Good short course
This is an enjoyable course which requires a variety of shots and thought. Driver is rarely needed, although a few risk and reward holes will tempt it out of the bag.
The only quibbles are the average driving range to warm up (no practice net here) and the poor pace of play, although a recently added notice on the club website attempts to address this.
Course has been left to rot
I’ve played here a few times and although the course is a bit short it’s always fun to play. I know it’s been a particularly dry summer and all courses have suffered but the level of deterioration here is on another level. The greens are unplayable, the tee boxes have been left to rot without a single place to tee up on most of them and the bunkers are in a truly appalling state. It appears there has been next to no maintenance on this course. However, the fee for a round is the same as ever; not expensive admittedly, but terrible value for a course which is virtually unplayable. Very disappointing..
What’s happening
This used to be a lovely little course. I know it’s been dry but the greens were in a terrible condition. The bunkers had matting protruding which nearly broke my wrist as I unknowingly connected with it before my ball. The clubhouse staff are great and food is good but it seems the course is lacking investment. Such a shame
Oakland Park
Friendly staff and a lovely course with 3 long and sweeping holes to finish up with. Some lovely water features on the way round and some testingly placed bunkers present the odd challenge.
Great, fun course, slow pace of play
Excellent course conditions considering recent dry weather with the exception of a couple of heavily top-dressed greens.
BUT atrocious pace of play for a short but tricky course. Possibly due to a weekly medal/roll-up, maybe worth avoiding on a Monday lunchtime/early afternoon.
Very disappointed
There is no way you should be paying anywhere close to £30 green fees for a course like this. It is very basic, very short with 7 par 3’s. The club house is fair, the “pro shop” is locked and closed. There are unattended and locked drinks/food huts on the course. No halfway house. We left after 14 holes due to the ridiculously slow play behind a ladies competition and went and enjoyed a lunch in a pub garden down the road. Thanks but no thanks.
Great Little Course
I thoroughly enjoyed this short but engaging course. The holes were varied and interesting without being quirkily gimmicky.
Can't wait to play it again.
A lovely little course. Ideal for getting back into the swing of it after a long lay of. We’ve played twice recently and would happily recommend. It’s very well looked after but for the bunkers which could be improved a little. Overall nice experience.
Still a delight
I haven't played this course for a few years and i was pleased i went back, the course was in good condition as it always was, the only let down is there isn't a pro shop as such but (at present), they have balls tees etc behind the bar where you sign in and tokens for the small but adequate driving range.
Very well kept
Greens were constantly great, the layout is good, there's not many holes across the 18 where a driver is needed, which was nice as I used more woods and low irons than usual. Thers a couple of great long par 3s
Nice course not long but tricky in places
First time playing the course .
3pm tee empty course.
Good condition .
Maybe to many par 3 's but some really good holes.
Lovely staff.
Will play here again.
