Needs work

Needs lots of work, shame as this could be a fantastic course.

Tees were atrocious, fairways longer than tough, daisies and Dandelions converting the fairways.

Greens saturated clearly a drainage issue on them.

Poorly maintained

Clearly since the course has stopped hosting euro pro events it has been poorly maintained. The fairways had daisys all over so was impossible to see a white ball and the tee boxes were some of the worst I’ve played on.
Greens in good nick however

Nice layout, needs a lot of work

First time playing here. The course layout is nice and has the potential to be a great 18 holes.
Unfortunately, it needs a lot of work to get it to reach this potential. Greens looked like they hadn’t had maintenance in a long time, fairways full of weeds and tees were either overgrown or had been clubbed to death.
Hopefully this place gets the work it needs soon, until then I don’t think I will be returning.

Good but Confusing Course

Upon arriving at the Entrance it was a nice drive down to the car park finding the reception was no problem , and stated I booked using Golf Now for £12.99 and that was no problem , all Tee times were shown on a screen with names which was good.

I had trouble finding the 1st Tee so I asked some friendly members and found it no problem, could be signed a bit better but once you know the layout it shouldn’t be a problem.

Upon reaching the first green there were sprinklers on it but this is course maintenance and is required and probably won’t be there when you play.

I had trouble finding some holes I think it was the 3rd i nearly tee off a completely different hole until green keeper told me the 3rd was behind me and had that problem a few times along the way, a lot of tee markers were not marked so could make you unsure of the hole but once you learn the layout I suppose its fine one good thing about the layout is you can seamlessly go from the 9th I think it is to the 16th which is good if you want to shorten your game.

Bunkers were in good condition and so were the greens in all fairness but were playing slowly so bare that in mind .

Overall 3/5 only because of Tee,s not being marked up and lack of signage for Hole Directions (Only a issue first time), all staff were spot on and everybody who was playing were really friendly definitely will return.

Downhill Bigtime

Course is really short from what it used to be. Tee offs are like playing on an horse field really overgrown rough and the greens were in a poor state you wouldn’t think there were any green keepers and it was full of 4 balls so pace is really slow I walked off after 8 holes Won’t be going back anytime soon

Good condition

Played a few times since the revamp and new holes added fairways excellent, greens were 6-7 out of 10 could do some work but I’m sure they’ll get better over summer.

Needs improvement.

OK on a hot deal for £13. Better signage, yardage markers, GPS needs to be mapped and daisy flowers need to be dealt with would improve it and make it much better. It's good for someone new to golf.

Round at Owston Hall

Nice course in good condition greens ran well and were the same speed on all of the greens the only thing that let the whole venue down was the car park apart from that good value for money and ran to time

Nice little course

Nice little course , really enjoyed the first round back after a couple of months off (due to COVID) a good mixture of hole ! Fairways are close together so you have to be on your guard as stray balls can come from anywhere.
Nice course , back 9 holes were slightly better in my opinion but overall a great day out

Looking at previous reviews they’ve clearly listened as it bears no resemblance to some of the negative ones from earlier in the year. Course in great condition with true fast greens. An easy course with wide well cut fairways and not many hazards so will be a great course for beginners. Great value for £20 on a weekend.
