Excellent value deal
Overall Rating Excellent day only gave 4 star as water fountain not working on a hot day to re fill water bottle at the halfway house .
Great day
Played a great round ( for me anyway) the course was I. Perfect condition, loved it,. My only negative is why are so many golf courses not turning on the water fountains ? There is one on the 15th, turn the thing on!!!!!
Good value for money
I have played this course twice this week and definitely will come back. Price cant argue with paid 20 for one round and 16 for another. Greens and fairways bit hard but expected for this time of year, with hot weather and little rainfall. But greens and fairways still very green and not brown and dead. Good course for all abilities and I will deffo be back
Pleasant enough
The first 6 holes are just up and down after that there is a bit of feature in the holes. The greens were ropey spongey and bumpy and not in great condition. There was even weeds showing through. The fairways are in poor condition and very patchy not really like a fairway. Drainage ditches have collapsed. The Galway house was closed and inaccessible and the drinking water fountains were inoperable. No cooked food available in the clubhouse at 1930 hrs. That said it was playable and nicely tree lined. Good for a practice knockabout but not for a quality day out
Pike hills
Got stuck behind a slow group but course was in good condition
Great day on the course.
Our only criticism was a really small point, we didn't think the greens had been cut that morning. They ran very true but were slower than expected. Other than that point every aspect of the course was excellent.
A decent track.
Firstly, the staff could not be more pleasant. From green keepers to the chairman who greeted me on arrival.
Secondly, the course layout and ease on aging joints and bones was excellent.
Thirdly, greens in excellent condition and quicker than a vaseline covered squirrel.
Fourth, being stuck behind extremely slow players x7 elderly ladies who had zero interest in waving me through made it a phenomenally slow game. It was the only downside to the course but it won’t stop me going back.
Great course.
Course was in great condition, greens was in excel at condition.
Tee boxes and fair ways all good and nicely laid out.
Lay out of the course easy to follow and a great walk.
Very very slow play. We went out as a 2 ball with a 3 ball of members in front by the second hole we was waiting g long periods. Some holes we was on the tee box before they’d even teed off. No offer to go through even though the 2 ball in front was a hole and half in front. This found us waiting every hole every second shot.
Nice day out which wasn’t spoilt but if you can’t keep up with pace of play you should let others pass. It took us 4 hours 50 minutes as a 2 ball to get round. I’d like to say cause we was looking for balls however we both shot under 80.
Great course, speak with members!
Not a true picture - perhaps not a winter course
A low price at a club where pre-visit research promised a lot? The reason became clear as we found out only 14/15 holes were open as there are obvious drainage issues in wet times of the year. All holes were from temporary tees, many cutting a lot of yards off holes. However, we enjoyed a relaxed swing of the arms. Greens were good for the time of the year and facilities and welcome in the clubhouse excellent. Proper judgement can only be given when the course is fully open and we WILL revisit then as it looks promising
GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY
Interesting course with a few nice undulating holes.
Brilliant
Perfect course although we had to play of mats when hitting the ball which I was a bit confused about.
Course was a pleasure regardless of the weather
Can't wait to come back and play the course in the summer. Even though we have had rain consistently for days, the greens were remarkable as was the majority of the course. The winter layout is somewhat confusing but I opted for yhe follow those in front method which worked well for me. My only one negative other rhan the weather, first timers need to be made aware of the code to get out or else they just sit there, cold and muddy looking all confused (maybe they was just me lol)
Excellent green
Very friendly and excellent value for money. Two holes were shut due to worm problems. Check the club website as it's not advertised on nowgolf. All holes played off winter tee boxes which drastically shortened many holes. The greens were in excellent condition and very challenging. Not a flat putt anywhere! Will play again in the summer when dry.
