Rochdale Golf Club

My course has closed, so am playing lots of courses in my general area with a view to joining. Booked this and looked at club website/scorecard and could see it's some 500 yards shorter than mine,
First impressions were good - the clubhouse is sensational and there are nets, putting and chipping greens right in front.
The 1st 2 holes are short par 4's but tricky. Then the course opens out a little and the holes become a challenge and one where a bit of local knowledge would really help you as there are numerous blind tee and 2nd shots - that said we all agreed that it really rewarded a good shot, was fair to those shots just off line and punished a bad shot - not much more you'd want from a course.
I've played some awful courses for £20 and this (we all agreed) was the best we'd played for that money.
Well done to the greenkeepers for keeping it in excellent condition throughout - we'll definitely be back soon

we really enjoyed the course it's not easy but it made it very interesting to play the greens were immaculate bit boggy in some areas but that's to be expected with the rain all in all very enjoyable

Sadly the course had a municipal feel to it. There was a lot of other guests on the course who clearly did not respect the club and no one was policing them. Consequently the pace of play was a big issue.

The greens where big and true but sadly had not been cut so very slow. The first couple of fairways where scruffy and poorly looked after.

Was very wet but that was due to recent bad weather. Not happy about being on temporary greens due to ground staff top dressing and slitting summer greens. But that's one of the down sides of booking on tee off times. Would play again but only in the summer

Called up to see if we could delay the tee off time we were told no and if we did, we would have to pay double the price quoted on the system.. then we played the first four holes only to catch up with a society of 4x 4 balls.. as you can imagine this slowed up the play and spoilt the round.. just thought that a little understanding by the staff could of made the day a lot better experience.. there were hardly any groups out behind us.. shame really as we live a mile from the course and are both members at another club.

Excellent golf course. First time I've played there and I will go back. Very well maintained course and the staff do a great job. Very nice greens I got stuck in 2 bunkers and it was a challeng getting out on the 2nd and 4th so avoid them at all cost.

Course was in excellent condition and it was a very enjoyable day, even though it rained all the time

nice easy course needs a few harder holes to make you play better

this is a very good golf course with some very good holes, it is very good value for money and i would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a good course to play,the greens are quite large and can be tricky to read,but they are receptive to good iron shots. try it and enjoy.
