Weather was perfect which then makes this course a bit more forgiving (when it's windy it becomes a different course all together). Course was in great condition. Staff really friendly. Such a shame that it's time might be limited, due to road and tunnel building. Course will be sorely missed.

Started playing again after a 15yr break had other commitments and just no time.
Since golf started up again decided with a mate to hit a few balls we have played several courses over the last few months 2 of which were pretty awful but southern valley is a great course we have played it the last 2 weeks with wind and without and we definitely prefer without being very open the challenge was good with the wind.
Well kept greens actually got some spin this week, some of the fairways could do with a number 1 but all in all a very enjoyable course.
Very helpful and friendly staff to.
Booking again for next Saturday.

The view of the course is very beautiful. Good to play most holes are very hilly! We played on a really windy day which was challenging but still really good!

During the last few months courses have been pact out and I have felt that golfers have been crammed in. Didn't find that here at all. The pace of play was great, with enough time between tee times to relax and enjoy your golf. Staff where really friendly and helpful, even giving great advice on certain holes, really enjoyed my day.

We played southern valley as we had not played there before and it is fairly local.

The staff were pleasant and advised us that the course was relatively quiet and we could tee off when ready.
The course it well laid out and signposted with a nice mixture of holes, although the par 3’s are all a bit similar.

The tee boxes are a bit tired, and the fairways barren in places, but the greens were fine if a little long.

Tee boxes could do with cutting, and some of the fairways, but greens in a very good condition. Had my best round.

As other reviews mentioned the course needs to look after little bits slightly better. Bunkers and tee boxes. Greens have improved in my time playing up there. This course gives u a challenge due to the wind. Always windy up there and plays a big part to your round. Some good variations of tests on the course. Some short par 4s added with some narrow long ones like 6th. Some long par 5s normally into wind like 8th. 12th par 3 on a windy day good luck aim your tee shot wide of green and still struggle to hold it on the green on other side. 11th and 12th wind is a massive factor.

The course was ok, some tee boxes need grass cutting. biggest problem was the bunkers, lots of stones and sand rock hard. I like playing the course but those bunkers have caused a lot of damage to my sand wedge. Always been a problem here. Easily solved by just putting more sand in them and always rake them before start of the days golf. Take pride in them.

The fair ways have a lot stones on them, and also the bunkers.. greens were good though.
