Lovely Setting

Really enjoyed playing this course. Course was in superb condition both fairways and greens were faultless. Each hole presents a different challenge. Only issue we had was the guy in charge of payments/bookings had no idea of the bookings made through teeoftimes and initially wanted paying again. Did not appear to have any internet so couldn't see any bookings made online. Therefore make sure you take booking ref with you. The course has stunning views so this didn't spoil the day,

Been back for a 2nd game

The only negative is the tee boxes need a little work if booking go though course as they offer a full breakfast and a round of golf for the price we paid on tee off times

Slow but fun

Really slow play infront of me. 4 groups of 4 older gentlemen - Luck of the draw i guess. Took me over 4 hours to get round on my own. However everyone behind me was really friendly and gave me tips on how to play the course and the greens and fairways were in good nick

Sutton hall

It's the 1st time of playing this course and we were pleasantly surprised by how well the course drained it's surprising dry
There is something for everyone our only criticism is that some of the greens were quite woolly and bobbly but considering the time of year it's acceptable
Also pace of play a bit slow due to a club comp going on from the morning
Would we recommend - yes would we play again- yes
Is it value for money- yes
All in all well worth a visit

Reasonable Challenge

Relatively long course with some challenging holes although most of the fairways are pretty generous. Also nice setting close to the estuary.

Sutton Hall GC

I used to be a member here when it opened until 2006. I try to play it once a year and have seen it mature into an excellent golf course. We played West Derby four days earlier and it was muddy in many places not so with Sutton Hall the fairways were immaculate and the green although a bit spongy were still in very good condition. For this time of year I would be surprised to find any course in the area in better condition. We finished at 17.30 and the clubhouse was closed so that was the only downside but we found a pub not to far away. Will definitely try to play again before the end of the year.
