Unfortunately since being traditions, the course is not in good condition
Sad to see but this really is not in great shape, and it was waterlogged, greens were not great, and really pitch and putt, but I would play other courses. Maybe they can fix and will be better in future. One or two nice greens, but overall was not great experience and my son’s first round of golf and he didn’t enjoy playing, as he was in water and mud most of time. Hope to see it turn the corner.
Friendly and interesting 9 hole !
Would definitely recommend as no where near as busy as other local courses send has full amenities
Review from regular player
I am still finding this course is well kept despite the constraints on the staff.
The greens run well and the fairways are an easy walk.
Needs improvement
Short, par 27, 9-hole course. Layout is ok, however the course needs some love and attention. The tee areas and greens need some improvement. Only played here this summer, I imagine it’s almost unplayable in the winter or after sustained periods of wet weather. Friendly staff but don’t expect to pick up any supplies in the shop - it’s incredibly bare.
Drying out nicely
The course, like others, has had its problems with flooding but is drying out nicely. Some way to go yet.
9 holes in a muddy field
This isn’t an 18 hole course, it’s barely 9 holes. Left to ruin, clearly going to be sold off ASAP. Avoid!
A good short course with some challenges
The course with its challenges was a pleasure to play.
The greens are running smoothly despite the weather we have had this year.
There were some water patches but that did not spoil the play.
I treated all the bunkers as GUR and suggest you do the same as they do need some work by the keepers at the moment.
The work for improvement is still ongoing with new mounds of earth and clogs in view the left the path of the green of hole 1.
First time round!
First time ever over at this nine hole course! And although it’s still a work in progress for them changing layout a little the course is fun and tricky with a couple of large lakes to cross!! If the 1st tee straight over the lake doesn’t make you nervous you’re a better person than I am!! But once across and onto the green you start getting the swing of things and the feel of this lovely course! It’s full of nature even saw a pike in the lake! The staff I chatted with were friendly helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the course and the area for golf! This is an up and coming course! Will definitely be a regular haunt for me!
Complete Swizz!*%#%^<#
Twisted Stone used to be a good course! Now it’s a scabby nine hole pitch and put. However! Golfpass are still selling it as if it’s an 18 hole golf course. £23 is a rip off for a 9 hole par 3 course. The pace of play was excellent as we were the only ones who were suckers enough to pay any money. I’m very disappointed- more with golfpass not being entirely honest!! Last time I’m using this service as contacting a club directly is often better.
Course looking good and a rosy future on plan
The course is looking good now they have the new mower (cuts, shreds, rolls) and the fairways look wide open at moment so you only get a real penalty of you are way (>50 yards) off line.
There is also evidence of the work to upgrade the course from the current par 3 to a proper nine holes with 2 par 5's 2 par 3's and 5 par4's ie par 36.
Generally good course.
This par 3 course, if played off the whites, has some challenges for the short game of any golfer.
This is due to the small greens which were running true and the water.
For me with a handicap of 36 it was a challenge and enjoyable when things went good for me.
Good value for money
Andy welcomed us really well and gave advice about the course. Great value for money. Some interesting Par 3s and some challesging holes to hit over water. Great fun
Great little Par 3
As a Par 3 course you couldn’t ask for anything more. As a 16 HCP I found it challenging enough with 3-4 long holes (170/180 yds) and plenty of water. The course was in good condition especially considering the recent terrible weather we’ve had. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning.
Another round with some highs and lows
This 9 hole par 3 course has some challenging holes and will become even more challenging on a windy day.
The green keeping team are still working hard at completing the work on this redesigned course.
Getting the ball to travel high so it stops on the green is just one of the challenges on the first and last holes.
Pleasant Twilight Round
Small 9 hole with a few challenges but we always enjoy playing there. Unfortunately Clubhouse and shop were closed on arrival but had booked on-line.
Best Par 3 I’ve been played at.
A lovely little find. All par3. Great course with water and sand. Makes you think about your shots.
Too much goose poo on the course. The greens need some loving.
Picturesque 9 Hole Par 3
Lovely picturesque 9 hole par 3 course with water featuring on 4 of the 9 holes. I've been playing this course weekly for about 2 months now and can see it improving every week. Very friendly staff and a steal at £10 midweek.
Twisted Stone 9 hole par 3
I found the recently constructed course to have some challenges both over water and avoiding hazards.
For a learner I found some holes hard but managed to get round without loosing a ball, a rare thing for me.
Some of the tees, holes and bunkers are 'work in progress' and I am sure the course will improve over time.
