Came back for more
Came back. Always great to return to a course to see if it still gives you a buzz. This can be a challenging course. But it’s in such great condition it’s just so brilliant. The greens incredible. And this time no queues. No comedy smoking duo in front this time wasting our time. Would come back and the price we paid so worth it.
Testing but great
What a course this is. I’d have to say credit to the green keepers. This is the best kept course I’ve seen in years. Greens playful. Lush fairways and tees. The course is hilly in parts. Some great views and certainly some testing holes. Would definitely recommend this course as it’s set in a beautiful backdrop. My only down comment would be about slow play. That’s not the clubs fault at all. We were just unlucky to get stuck behind a very slow 4 ball and 2 beginners who spent most of the time smoking. All in all though what a gem of a course. Value for money and those greens. Best in the county. Well done that club!
Waterton park gc
Course was in great condition.challenging.greens were superb.would highly reccommend to play.
Will definitely play again
Awesome challenging course.
One of the best courses in Yorkshire.
You'll need your A game for the course.
Rewards good shots and punishes bad ones.
Can't wait to play again
good walk
Staying at the nearby hotel on a few occasions, I though bring my clubs and have a twilight knock. Staff were not great, ( I think he just wanted to "knock off" for the day), but I got going fairly quickly, managed all 18 (just about) before the light went.
It's a nice course, but I think once you know your way around would not play overly difficult. Greens are excellent, layout is good, but a couple of decent walks between holes. I still got round in just under 2:45
Great variety of holes
Absolutely fantastic course with a great variety of holes. Well with the extra money when compared with other courses in the area. Very friendly staff both club and house, I will definitely be returning soon.
Waterton park
This course is looking great, situated in a stunning parkland setting, with strategically placed lakes and bunkers makes it a pleasure to play..friendly staff and a great halfway house providing good refreshments.
Lots of unforgettable holes
1st time at waterton the course was in excellent condition with the greens smooth and running true.Hole number 2 is a lovely par 3 over a ravine with many other spectacular holes. Will definitely be visiting again.
Lads day out
Excellent course very dry due to weather but greens were very good would definitely recommend
I would go again tomorrow!!!
From the off the pro in the shop was really friendly and welcoming. He explained the facilities and course layout and was very sociable.(the free push trolleys was a nice touch also)
We did get stuck behind a 2 ball for the first few holes but it didn't matter the views are absolutely stunning in some areas and breathtaking in others.
Now down to the course as my header explained "I would play there again tomorrow"
The tees were in great condition and the fairways and greens immaculate. The course layout was a testing with blind holes and greens (which was a bit tricky on first time playing) but didn't detract from the enjoyment of the course.
An absolute must if you want to play a top notch course at an affordable price.
Beware sociaties
Played course a few times. As usual the course was in excellent condition but the round was spoilt by being behind two sociaties. Four and three quarter hours for a game of golf is unacceptable.
Beautiful course
First time playing here very impressed great layout and greens were by far best I've played on this year
Hidden gem
Excellent amenities, driving range, practice greens and half way house in picturesque surroundings.Only slight down side is the numerous geese around the lakes, but will return for more rounds.
Great course
Great course which was in excellent condition. Greens were fast and true and fairways lush. Bluebells and rhododendrons all around course and very good weather. Would recommend this course to anyone. Will be back
A long walk
Waterton Park is a lovely course set in beautiful surroundings, being the land originally belonging to Waterton Hall , which incidentally is surrounded by a lake. The edge of the lake comes in to play occasionally , but the overall course is one of undulating parkland . It is quite a long course so I would recommend a buggy so long as you can go on the grass and not just stick to the pathways. There are some testing holes , the fairways are well mown and the greens just starting to come into their own, if a little slow at the moment. There are ponds and gulleys, hidden greens and dog legs - all in all a good test of golf and an enjoyable course to play.
Nice course
A nice course, some interesting holes, can be challenging in places. The course layout is very good, some very steep hills in places so if you struggle walking get a buggy.
Really enjoyed the round, the course was in very good condition and the greens were great.
The only downside was the pace of play stuck behind a four ball that were at snail pace, and completely oblivious to our two ball, we had to ask eventually if we could play through, which they let us albeit not very happily!!
But I would definatley play the course again and a nice bacon sandwich at the halfway house!
