Plugged

The teeing areas weren't great but the greens we're very good considering the amount of rain that has been around. But unfortunately virtually every shot that was hit got plugged and on the wet fairways. After hitting a great shot down the middle of the fairway you spend 5 minutes looking for the balls!!
All in all a good course lay-out and will be back when it drys up a bit.

Waterlogged

I have played Whitewebbs many times. Whilst generally in very good condition in the summer months, it does struggle to hold up as a playable course in the wet winter months. The greens were in reasonably good condition and a vast improvement from when i played last in late October and they were waterlogged, but the lack of drainage across the course as a whole means the fairways, particularly leading onto the green are nothing more than a mud pit. Most of the time it it impossible to play a solid shot due to the lie of the ball or footing in the mud. Recommended, but just not at this time of year.

Rain affected slog

Fair play to the course team, keeping this course open during very tough times, take a bow.

Having said that, the fairways were very boggy and almost impossible to get a footing on the fairways at times.

It’s the second time in 5 weeks I’ve played here and it does struggle with heavy traffic which has caused the course to be almost unplayable.during sustained rainy periods.

To summarise, it’s a descent test and worth a round. Well done to the staff for keeping it open in very trying times

Steve

Crisp cold afternoon. muddy

We took advantage of late tee off price, and played the first nine holes. Lovely day, no one else was playing when we started, as t hey were already way ahead, plying whole 18 holes. It was really great to play after such a long time, play was heavy under foot, but the course was easily playable despite the mud. It's a nice course, friendly reception, but due to COVID, no amenities at all.

Decent course

The course is set in a great location. Aesthetically pleasing on the eye, and at a fair price. greens are in good condition. some parts of the course was boggy, but I imagine this course to be a great course in the summer dryer months. shame it could be closing, great course for local people, if it had a little more love to improve the conditions it would be more enjoyable than places like trent park.

Awful tee boxes

As my title says the tee boxes were like teeing it up in the rough. Also a lot of the holes were very similar. I’m sure it would be a better track in better weather. 5/10 at best for me

Wet weather
Walked

Bad weather meant course very muddy

too muddy to enjoy the round and post lockdown meant that maintenance had probably been stopped. In better weather front 9 ok but back 9 much more interesting and harder.

Overpriced

Massive holes in green, terrible drainage, tee long grass. Coffee machine for refreshments. Got behind 4 hacker 4 ball and had to take a break after 9 holes cos they wouldn't let us through. I don't mind there being cheap and cheerful courses but the price should reflect it. This is a 20 pound round type course, not 27.50. It may seem a small diff but I wouldn't have booked a 20 pound course, cos I wanted to have a round at a nice place.

First time

Has lots of potential and can imagine how it plays in the summer..
Tees and fairways grass was just to long, even with a tee some tee shots were like playing out the rough..

That said, would play again

Decent course

Decent course, slow pace of play. The member of staff working in the pro shop was unbelievably rude. We rented a buggy and finished our round at 6:10pm, he came out the shopping and proceeded to be rude and moan at us because he finishes work at 6 and had to wait 10 minutes for us. He then started saying he only gets paid £9 an hour and won’t be paid for the 10 minutes he had to wait for us. We weren’t told the buggy had to be back by 6!

Easy play, friendly staff

First time playing this course. Overall a straightforward course, lots of bunkers but not too many hazards. We were lucky to have a fairly fast game as the 4 ball ahead let us through early so not held up after that.
More walkers around on the back 9 but no one causing any distraction.
Club staff very friendly & helpful... would definitely visit again

Avoid

Awful course. In the middle of a public park. Children playing in bunker, pace of play was so slow with nobody letting us play through. Golfers wearing t shirts and football boots.

Interesting

First thing to note is that the old clubhouse (the one marked on my map) is at the 11th tee and the new clubhouse is half a mile away.

This course has many attributes. The layout is pretty good. It is not long but there is plenty of woodland so accuracy matters. The greens were slow but true. Clearly costs are being saved on upkeep as the condition of the trees and fairways was poor. Still, cant have everything for the green fees charged!
