Novice, nine holes
I’m a novice golfer only recently started playing. This is a great course as it’s a relaxed atmosphere and a Challenging but fair course. Shame there isn’t a nineteenth hole for a drink afterwards
Possibly harsh
Dry as the Sahara! I know we are in a heat wave but the fairways were like playing on concrete. Greens were ok. Course is simple and very short. Go here to give your confidence a boost. I won’t be returning soon
Nice Layout, Nice Greens, Concrete Fairways
First Time playing this course and i was suprised that you get random ppl walking their dogs across fairways, and ppl just cutting through like its a shortcut..
The greens were in lovely condition, but the rest of the gorund was rock solid, and very difficult to use lofted clubs on the fairways to layup etc..
Layout was good but the ground definitely needs a drink
i do not recommande that course
the course was open to everyone like a park. kids were playing with ball, running people and people with bicycle
Danger at part that was very disturbing
also very dry fairways and green
Good for a practice round
This course often gets a bad rap, but I'm not sure what people expect for 15 quid? It has decent greens, good tee boxes, fairways are a little scuffed at times, but all in all excellent course to practice accuracy on. It isn't long at all, but some trees are very well positioned and make shot selection interesting. Worth doing it twice and seeing how you can play each hole differently.
Great Beginner Course Close to London
Had a very enjoyable round with friends at David Lloyd on May Bank Holiday Monday. The course is a great 9 hole course for beginners with enough yardage to keep the more experienced player content.
My four ball contained an ex pro and a beginner playing only their second round and everyone enjoyed the course.
The greens were slow, with bobbles in places but to be expected when paying just £10 for the round.
Would recommend if you have mixed abilities within the group and looking for a relaxed 9 holes.
Not for single women and dog walkers on the course
My experience of David Lloyds Hampton golf course was not positive.
First there were no green keepers to tell me how the course was laid out nor were there any flags to follow and as this was my first game I had been told that there would be flags to follow on a course.
The course did not seem well kept with lots of big tufts of dry grass were balls got lost and dog walkers that crossed the course and walked over the putting green, one even in clogs.
And there were dog excrements both on one of the putting greens and on the course. I was baffled that it was permitted for the dog walkers to walk across the course.
Also I found the dress code of some of the other golfers wanting. Some were playing in ordinary shoes and shirts.
But worst of all was that I when I had reached the 9th hole was harassed by a really nasty male golfer and he was so confrontational and insulting that I had to walk of the golf course and go home.
As there were only two very young girls in the reception it would have been pointless to seek help from them, they didn’t even know where the golf course was situated when I showed them my booking.
I think that David Lloyd could improve the golf course by not permitting dog walkers on the course.
Have visible green keepers.
Have a basket on their grass mower to catch the cut off grass.
9 hole course
Nice 9 holes
Plentiful trees. Good layout. Greens were ok.
Good for a quickish 9.
Not a destination for a day out
Good value through G TT, staff and players friendly, great starter course with a couple of challenges
Green condition
Fairway was hard. Green was not flat. But it is good for beginner.
Good to practice
Course is open park play. The day we played there was 5 ball head of us.Very flat, but good course to sharpen up your game.
