Good course to frequent!
Course was in great shape. Greens were punched recently, they’re are fast and true (if people are fixing their ball marks). Fairways and roughs are green on consistent. Probably the best maintained course you can find in Kern right now.
Otherwise, a lot of people that come out don’t know what pace of play is, nor do they know much about golf etiquette at all (I.e. not getting drunk and screaming about EVERYthing while people are putting nearby). But maybe that’s just local golf in Bakersfield.
Overall, had a great time and made the putt of my life.
challenging holes with big boy length on some holes
I just as very surprised how long several of the par 3 ‘s and 4’s were. Probably a couple of the longest in the area.
Mad house
Went on a Sunday afternoon and pace of play was horrendous. People yelling on other holes while people are trying to tee off, I had to ask them to stop yelling. People doing drugs it was the worst experience I had experienced at Kern River
Very Big course with decent special prices for seniors
A lot of property, lots of different strains of grass, some draught areas, loved the elevation holes, price was right, but HOT weather can take a toll on you.
Average
First time playing here. The pace was bad for a 8:30 am tee time. When I got there they paired me with 2 which is fine for a single. Then they made that 2 some a 4 some within 5 min and then asked me to go out as a single chasing 2 groups of four
I quickly caught up to them and we made it a 5 because the groups ahead were slow and no ambassadors were to be found
I got a $40 Sunday AM tee time here with cart which is pretty good. They do have multiple water stations which was much appreciated
Very flat and easily walkabout.
Kern River Golf course
Course is in good shape. Was a little wet early in the morning. But in great shape
Good Challenge for All Levels
This is a fairly challenging par 70 course. It features 3 par 3s that are about 190 yards plus. The par 3s alone make this course a challenge. It also has three 400 plus par 4s that can be difficult for new and short-distance hitters. Greens are usually quick. This course is a good challenge.
