Great Place

Played twice over Christmas. Course was really well maintained. Staff absolutely awesome, really friendly. Course itself is a well played out par 3. One of the best in the north west.

Perfect course for beginners

Living around Southport, you are spoilt for choice for where to play golf. I'd highly recommend Southport Golf Academy for any beginners or someone looking to hone a particular skill. The course is kept in brilliant condition, especially the greens which run incredibly smooth. I used to play a lot here when I was a child and now as an adult, I come here to practice if I've been having difficulties off the tee or my short game is off.

Great short game golf course

This was perfect for my short came with some narrow windows fir ball flight. Our party had a beginner who thoroughly enjoyed herself. The course was quiet and perfect for her to start her golfing journey.

Highly recommend this course! Only down side is the Astro-tees. They are self preserving so understandable why they are in place. The rest of the course is really well maintained.

Decent little course

Came to get my short game dialled in, very good course length. Good variety of distances and a decent green sizes. I used driver for the first hole but the tee beds don’t offer anywhere for tees. I suppose they don’t want people running the risk of driver on the par 4. Used anything from my Hybrid down to sand wedge for the rest of the tee boxes. I didn’t use the tee boxes generally as they are rock hard like concrete so just played a couple of yards where I could.

Greens were fairly hard and very fast due to to trampled ground but not expecting the best on the par 56 little course but still playable. Very enjoyable to sum it up! pace of play was generally okay I feel like tee times were not managed well or enforced which was causing congestion on the first tee. It was plain sailing after that if I’m honest though. Course could do with better maintenance though.

Little gem

This course is perfect for practicing your short game, me and a friend was more than happy with the course and felt welcomed on and around the course. They have a lovely cafe serving very nice hearty food. And a brilliant junior setup for kids of all ages.

Overbooked. Worse attempt of a game of golf in my life.

Booked 9 holes on the GN app, 3 and a half hours priorl
As I enter reception/till I was informed by staff that I wasn't on the system and the course had been overbooked. The staff let me go on and fit in between the other player. So I tried.
The first hope was busy, so I skipped through from 6th hole to the 9th. Then went back to 1st hole and it was busy, so I went practiced a few pitches for 15mins and decided to skip to 2nd and try play though, where they was no chance. It was too busy so I gave up and walked back.
All in all, I played 4 holes.
Now this used to be my favourite course and I only discover the course thoughts golf now app and I have play there on several occasions. But this experience has disappointed me and has put me off playing there in the future.
Very disappointed.

Excellent Academy course

Great little Par 3 course only 45 min from Manchester. Perfect for a 10 Yr old kid, not long at all. 1 hour and half knock, busy but flows really well. Would recommend and demo return. Excellent value.
