Regulation at Marine Memorial Golf Course

One of the most interesting military courses, and a great value for the money. Greens were in excellent condition.. Have to watch out for the gopher holes or you could easily twist an ankle. Hardly anyone on the course, so we breezed through.

This course is an older Billy Bell design, bunkers and greens that are not flat. I enjoy the complete silence on the golf course, it is very cool.. Its nice to play and give respect to those active and retired Marines, also

Allow extra time to get to the course as GPS to get there isn't very accurate but staff were very helpful and because the course wasn't busy, they allowed me to golf even though I was late.

The front 9 was relatively straight forward and only real obstacle were the trees.

The back 9 was fun, it had dog-legs, elevation changes, elevated tee boxes, etc.

Overall a fun experience and would play again the next time in the area.

I enjoy the length and the different holes throughout the course. This is s great course and fun to shape shots off the tee for some of the dog leg holes.

Fun isolated course, but the fairways are fading due to drought conditions.

Very open and spacious between small mountains.

The fairways are wide and there is only couple holes you need a carry. The greens undulating whtch is a good chalenge.

The greens were fast and fabulous. The fairways need some rain. Played in under 4 hours. Good value for the price.

Since most of my friends are hackers, this would be a good course for them... greens were okay however the rest of the course was in lousy condition... Really lacked water

Great track excellent greens forgiving layout

Starting Feb 1, if you are a civilian you need a sponsor to enter the base. When I went to the gate I was told I could not enter without a sponsor. I argued a little and was told they would allow me to enter this one time but would need a sponsor of I wanted to play there anymore. The pro shop had me fill out a form and told me that they would do a background check on me and if I passed I would just have to show ID at the gate. The process takes about a week.

The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. The courses layout is challenging, but fair for all level of golfers. It is a very good buy for the dollars.

The groundhogs and the squirrels seem to rule here, but the quietness and beauty of the place is worth it. Southern California the way it used to be...get it while you can. The back nine is remarkably different and scenic, and elevation comes into play. I can see that if a few million was poured into the course, it could be a championship layout. Meanwhile, it's a pretty place to spend an afternoon.

Course not in terrific shape, but the value is good. It is secluded and pretty. This is a no frills, solid, traditional course and I would not hesitate coming back.

Got behind some very slow groups and had to wait ,way too long between shots. It is a very nice course, and very serene. I have always had a rough time scoring low, greens are tricky, laying slow this round.

The greens were excellent and green. The fairways were a bit rough but I expected that for mid January.. It was a Tuesday and pretty empty. We were a threesome and played in 3 hours. Nice practice green and driving range - no mats. Cleanest cards around! It was fun!

I play this course almost once a month (mostly because I live so close) and I always have an enjoyable round of golf.
Conditions right now are about average for the area this time of year (factor in the draught as well). There are patches of brown throughout the fairways, but still very playable. Greens are in good shape, but tricky at times.
The course is open and forgiving enough to be fun, but still challenging enough to keep you honest. You might lose a couple balls here and there if you have control problems, but most of the time you can find it!
I will definitely keep coming back!

This is a fun course that's in pretty good shape. The greens are in great shape, and they can be very challenging, fast and difficult to read. The layout of the course is good for all levels of play. Trees can get in your way if you're not hitting straight, but it is unlikely that you will lose a ball. This course is a good value. If you like playing courses where you don't see a house the entire round, you will like it..
