All around great course
Course is in great shape. Staff is excellent. Would play again!
Nice course
Very friendly staff, clean course conditions. Locals weren’t friendly; just get out of their way. Will play again
Great fun
Desert Princess is a beautiful course in the best condition we’ve played since arriving in Palm Springs. We were well received and directed to the right courses.
It was the afternoon so the pace was a bit slow but ,in such beautiful surroundings, it was a pleasure.
Slightly Under Construction
love this course, having the 3 different 9 hole courses to play makes it a fun place to play. Although on this day, and others before and aft…. The bunkers are under construction. Lagos is the only one of three with fresh sand where as Cielo and Vista are very hard pan.
So either way, stay away from the bunkers, lol.
Great desert layout
We have played here before, but it was pre-pandemic. They have completed some work on the course since. The fairways are fairly wide and the rough wasn't particularly punitive. Plenty of water and sand. The greens are huge leaving the chance of really long putts. The cart ride from the Lagos nine to the Cielo nine is really long. Don't be surprised by it.
Staff were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.
Slow greens, Great layout
This course is very challenging and kept in good shape. The bunkers actually have a good amount of sand in them. The Bermuda greens here are definitely slower than other courses with different grass (especially in the summer). I would have given them 5 stars if they had better water stations on the course. During our round, there was NO cart person and although there were plenty of drinking fountains, they were not shaded and had only HOT water. Therefore, bring plenty of fluids and ice with you.
Hidden gem
I drove by this place all the time and never realized there was a course there. Simple set up and runs through some of the homes. Good practice facilities and staff. I highly recommend this place if you've never been.
Back again
Back to this fantastic course since 2014! Everything is in great shape, tee boxes, fairways and greens!
Wonderful track
I have lived in Palm springs for four years now and wasn't even aware that this place existed. Got it on a hot deal for $45 and it was worth every penny. Three 9 hole courses on a semi tight layout. I highly recommend that you give it a try
Outstanding/Beautiful
From bagdrop to finish the day was great. Pro shop was extra friendly and helpful. It is a nice layout but very spread out between the 9s. Course played at a great pace. We will definitely make a return visit. The property was beautiful.
A little too windy!
Course was in nice shape and course staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the wind came up and was gusting upwards of 40 mph making play a bit awkward. Would certainly go back again.
Great value
First trip to Palm Springs and played here the first day since it was next to our hotel. Very affordable with friendly staff and course was in great shape. Paid 4x more to play the next day at a course in Palm Desert with great views but greens were nowhere near as nice. Should have saved the green fee and Uber charge.
Always a great day at the Princess
Beautiful scenery and great golf - what a combination! Course is fairly wide open, with water on 70% of the holes. Greens are is great shape and the ball runs true. Three 9 hole course, Lagos, Cielo, and Vista. We played Lagos and Cielo as a foursome and finished in 3 1/2 hours. Went to the Mountain Grill after for REALLY good food and an iced cold beverage.
Try this course, you will not be disappointed.
VERY spaced out course...
Rode the La Vista/Los Lagos combo from the Blues (70.5/124/6269) in 4H with a nice family from WA. Low 80's, sunny and breezy weather.
I was excited because I was getting to play a 9 I had never played before, the last public regulation 9 holes in the Palm Springs area I had never played. This course is less than 6 miles from my house. I never see them listed on any of the reseller tee time sites nor do I see them advertise locally. Not located on a major street, so it is easy to forget it is there when I decide where to play.
The course is in excellent playing condition. Most of the layout meanders through nice condo's and single family homes, other parts of the course were out by themselves in the wash. MANY tees are a long way from the last green, one of the most spread out courses I have ever played. Not an easy course, it wasn't super tight but had a decent amount of water. I did not dislike any actual holes, yet for the 2nd straight visit I did not really care for the layout. Uninspiring and somewhat boring is my take on the layout.
Tees mostly good, fairly lush, some with divot damage that could use maintenance.
Fairways generally lush and well maintained, good to play from.
Rough was usually 2-3 inches, recently mowed and you frequently had an okay lie.
Sand traps greenside were nicely maintained with fluffy sand. Waste bunkers you needed to be careful you removed all the rocks from around your ball.
Greens were excellent, quick & firm, almost too firm. They really rolled well, nicest greens I have putted on in several months.
The check-in experience was not good. They have 27 holes and run groups off 2 different tees when busy, and they were VERY busy today. Was about 6 people deep in line when I got there just before noon. Paid my $55 @ 12:07, they put with with a 3some teeing off @ 12:15. Should be perfect since I was ready to go, correct? That would be a no. The 3some I was paired with already had the carts and I have no idea who they are. There were probably 30-40 carts riding around with people finishing rounds, people starting rounds and people on the range. Lots of private carts with members who live in the community who may have been there for lunch. I was told I was starting on a different 9 in the pro shop than I actually did. I had cart numbers to look for but my group had long ago driven to the first tee. The layout of the course is bizarre, it is a decent cart ride from the clubhouse to two of the three 9's. It is a very long walk, which is what I had to do since they had the carts. Finally got there and a nice guy drove me to #3 tee, which was where my group was by the time I finally found and joined them. Once you finish, it is a long ride back in from #18. So I played holes 3-18, then luckily had enough time to go play holes 1-2 by myself.
Saw the drink cart once. No GPS on the basic carts. Busy driving range and a large putting and chipping area. I would occasionally play here if in the area, but wouldn't drive far to come and play this course. No recomendation.
Willing to Share our course with others.
Best publicly available course in the Valley. Okay, we are home owners on this course. We subsidize it. Do I want the general public overtaking all of my available Tee-Times? Of course not. But I'm wiling to share. It's a very good course. Sand your divots and fix your green marks please, or I will hunt you down.
