Usually a fun round
I expected the punching and sanding, but the greens were horrible. Also, there was a ridiculously slow foursome who had 5 groups backed up. No one from the course was monitoring
Liked layout
Nice course good layout. Unfortunately just sands punched greens day before.
Green under aerification, no warning
When I checked in at Vineyard golf course, I was told the green under aerification. The course opened only front 9 holes. I was somewhat surprised, because when I booked online, no any warning said the course started aerification Monday. The confirmation email did not mention anything about the course aerification also. Disappointed very.
Great value, bring your sand wedge
We were staying at the Fairmont and didn't feel like spending $300 on a round (because frankly I'm not a good.golfer). Found this course on Tee Off with a great deal on a 2:10 start. The course is very nice with well maintained tee boxes, fairways, and greens. The rough was deep and some had a lot of thick mowed grass clumped on it. All the significant damage on the greens was "day damage". There is some.water and a few of the fairways are a little narrow but in all it's a typical.par 70. Not super long. Tons of big, wide and thoughfully.placed bunkers. All told it was an excellent value and I had a great time. I used their rental clubs. They were probably less than the value of the rental, but I'm sure at the price point they are going to be abused, so not likely to have anything too nice. I didn't us3 any off course amenities but I didn't want to leave zero stars.
Needed marshal to keep pace of play going
Second group in front of us was a hole behind.
Course was in good shape
Greens were receptive
Water had some sort of ball magnet that my ball was attracted to. LOL
No access to driving range
The driving range is always completely full and people standing around waiting to get on it. This may be ok for other players, but I can't play a round of golf without a bit of warmup ahead of time, so this is a deal-breaker issue for me.
Good time for the first time here
I enjoyed playing for my first time and I would definitely return and recommend this golf course to my friends that play golf. The layout was ok and it made the course challenging for me as I've only been playing for a year, but overall I enjoyed it. The course was full that day with more than two groups ahead of us and behind, so scheduling your tee time early in the morning might be best. The staff was super friendly as my golf bag was taken to the car for me because I'm coming off a fractured wrist. I will definitely be back to play here again.
The Vineyard at Escondido Golf Course
I am an average player, a beginner really and this course is very well maintatined, the staff was very nice and I really enjoyed myself here. I would play this course again and recommend to all my golf friends.
Cheap and dirty
You get what you pay for. $36 for 18 with a cart is as cheap as it gets. But the course condition reflects the price. Unfortunately, I was paired with someone who littered and had no etiquette, but I don’t think that’s the normal golfer who plays there.
Old School Player
I would rate this course with a better score but they have no yardage markers anywhere? I'm old school and still use my eyes, so not a gps to the hole I miss shoot on distance inside 150yards. May be time I upgrade to a gps watch but I prefer my Xeric nasa moon landing watches for now. Still doesn't make sense they removed all the fairway yardage markers, at least have the 200, 150, 100 markers on the cart paths. Over all I'll play it again.
Good Layout, Fair to Pooe Course Conditions
Fairways and Greens are pretty rough and chewed up.
Spotty grass in Fairways. Greens full of poorly and non-repaired pitch marks.
Golfers: Fix your stuff!
Course Maintenance: Fix the Greens and Fairways!
The Vinyard Escondido
Worth the money...they could pay more attention to conditions of the bunkers as most are not kept up. Need more sand...or at minimum more attention from ground crew.
