Working on every hole seemed like
They need to do the heavy equipment work at night. Set up a spotlight. Tough to play with background noise the whole time.
Disappointing
Poor value for the money. Unimpressive course. Greens in good shape, but not fairways. Be prepared for mosquitos. Good driving range and good frequency of contact with refreshment carts. No bathrooms except at pro shop.
The Vineyard remains a good test
The greens were aerated October 1st and 2nd, two weeks later, they were still healing. There was major maintenance of a few holes, but the rest of the course was decent, except for the lack of sand in the bunkers. I've played here dozens of times and the course is decent. They have added launch monitors on several of the driving range mat stalls, that's a plus.
Hidden gem
My first experience with The Vineyard was great. The front and back nines are completely different in degree of difficulty with the front being the hardest. Everything was great making the whole experience enjoyable.
Construction
Man they are doing a LOT of construction on this course. Didn't say anything, and that was the tough part today. There was CAT equipment everywhere, and it was not mentioned beforehand. Really disappointing round.
greens punched 10 days ago
The greens were punched a week earlier, so they were bumpy.
There's water on the first 9 and your ball will inexplicably roll into the water because many of the fairways are less than flat.
If you lose a ball, you'll probably bring, too. Sometimes the water hazards are clear enough to find lots of balls. Sometimes they are danker than a foggy Halloween night.
Nice course on holiday
We were lucky to be paired with someone who had played the course so had a little inside knowledge. Course was fun to play, the only nit to pick was that the driving range is not protected from the course with nets on either side, so two holes had lots of range balls on the edge of the fairways, which made finding balls on that side of those fairways quite difficult. Otherwise a very enjoyable round and would happily return.
A great course!
Love it, but would appreciate if you could spray for bugs around the water sites. They are bothersome!
Usually a fun round
I expected the punching and sanding, but the greens were horrible. Also, there was a ridiculously slow foursome who had 5 groups backed up. No one from the course was monitoring
Liked layout
Nice course good layout. Unfortunately just sands punched greens day before.
Green under aerification, no warning
When I checked in at Vineyard golf course, I was told the green under aerification. The course opened only front 9 holes. I was somewhat surprised, because when I booked online, no any warning said the course started aerification Monday. The confirmation email did not mention anything about the course aerification also. Disappointed very.
Great value, bring your sand wedge
We were staying at the Fairmont and didn't feel like spending $300 on a round (because frankly I'm not a good.golfer). Found this course on Tee Off with a great deal on a 2:10 start. The course is very nice with well maintained tee boxes, fairways, and greens. The rough was deep and some had a lot of thick mowed grass clumped on it. All the significant damage on the greens was "day damage". There is some.water and a few of the fairways are a little narrow but in all it's a typical.par 70. Not super long. Tons of big, wide and thoughfully.placed bunkers. All told it was an excellent value and I had a great time. I used their rental clubs. They were probably less than the value of the rental, but I'm sure at the price point they are going to be abused, so not likely to have anything too nice. I didn't us3 any off course amenities but I didn't want to leave zero stars.
Needed marshal to keep pace of play going
Second group in front of us was a hole behind.
Course was in good shape
Greens were receptive
Water had some sort of ball magnet that my ball was attracted to. LOL
