Bad Conditions
This course is in need of a drastic makeover. Rough is long, cut grass laying all around greens and rough making short game shots difficult. No direction being given to North 1 tee box which is down in the wash rather than up top. Now playing as par 3 rather than par 5. Wash areas on north almost unplayable as there is little to no grass.
Golf staff not very attentive to patrons. Some are busy at times practicing on the practice green. Starting area is very caotic with carts park everywhere blocking movement to tee boxes. No need for bag drop off as no one picks up your clubs.
Course is in dire need for attention. Areas of rough at various heights. No trimming around trees or sand traps.
Golfers also should be told that there are no longer 27 holes available and that the open 18 are not truly 18 holes.
Too many wash holes
About 60% of the course was good to very good, but the wash holes made it average. Too much up and down in the wash - which went on for about 5 straight holes. Good value at $63 at 2PM and we may have finished if there wasn't a solid back-up at #15. Pace of play was an issue on the back nine.
Poor golf experience.
When we arrived at course had to shag our own balls for warmup.Course was played in ravine where it was muddy and wet not their fault as rains had fallen previously. No water on course. No ball washers .No club clean after game.No marshal play very slow did not finish.Paid $ 178.00 for course under construction won’t be back!
WOW What a mess
As a person who like to frequent this course weekly at what point is the Omni going to start cleaning up this mess. There is debris throughout the wash area from the rain of last spring, the tropical storm and the recent rains. The range has been nonexistent for over a year and you are expected to hit into nets to warm up. You also need to shag your own practice balls from the nets to use. There appears to be no leadership between pro shop and starter. Confusion seems to be the norm. The north course is a mess. First hole is a par 5 now playing as a par 3. Other holes crossing the wash are muddy and have limited grass. West course still has the first three holes shut down and do not appear to ever going to reopen. The two holes by the hotel are not consistent with the other four holes. South is the only nine that is regular play.
When is the Omni going to change their moniker stating 27 holes.
Save you money and go elsewhere.
Course needs some TLC
After playing this course for years and slowly seeing it go downhill it appears as if the slope is getting slippery. The wash remains covered in debris and mud from the tropical storm. Does not appear that much effort is being done to correct situation. Playing back and forth over the mess. First hole is now set up as a very poor par 3. The west nine, or now west six is hit and miss in regards to consistency, some long rough, some regular, green speeds vary, etc.
For the price now being charged the course is being beat up by groups all using individual carts, not showing any golf etiquette by fixing divots or raking traps.
Course is extremely wet as it looks like they love to water the fairways. Ball constantly covered by mud.
Pro shop does not tell you of the issues with the conditions, cart barn employees busy practicing rather than showing attention to golfer’s needs.
Several North course holes play through the mud
We played the front 9 on the South course. It was in fairly good shape. The back nine were played on the North course that was in very rough shape. Those holes are designed over and through a large water arroyo that had a lot of mud and water at the bottom.
Wash out condtions
First hole par 5 they told us at the last minute it was now a 3 with the worst temporary tee I have ever seen
This is a fair layout.
This is a very fair course that was fun and challenging. Besides the first hole on the North course, the course was in amazing shape. I will hopefully return to play.
Nice course but playing back and forth across the muddy wash lowered my overall rating. Would play again, hopefully once the wash dries out.
Poor
First hole normally par 5 was a par three due to rain wash out. Nobody told us till last second before we started. Driving thru muddy water over front bumper 3 times. Very disappointing for $119
Mud
Course had a lot of mud puddles & water puddles. I was in all of them. Played this course a couple of years ago & enjoyed it. Not this time. Way too wet & muddy.
Nice course.
Hole 3 was previously a par 5. Changed to a pat 3 because of drain/rain wash damage. A little hilly but the golf cart made it easy to move about. Friendly staff. No complaints. Would play it again for sure.
Disappointed
The course had suffered damage during the storm and the first hole on the North Course was washed away. In the gulleys there was mud at the bottom. No one told us before we played and I think it wasn’t good value for the price. Staff were very nice, but did not tell us the situation.
