Excellent public course

Not Pebble Beach, but a nice, affordable, track that poses some challenges. If you want to be treated well and play an economical round this is the place for you.

great way to spend a day

Salinas Fairways offers a different kind of challenge simply because of the wind that comes everyday. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy a good round of golf then please go try this course. The food there is really good also and made fresh at a good price. Mike and Ross and the staff there really do a great job in making the experience there pleasurable.

This is Ross Kroeker, the Head Golf Professional at Salinas Fairways. I am sorry to hear about your slow round of golf. We do take the pace of play seriously here. It looks like you played behind our 9-Hole Ladies group that plays each Thursday at 10:00 am. Sometimes they are a little slow, but they only play 9 holes so the back 9 usually goes fast! Thank you for playing The Fairways!

Great value with my GolfNow coupon

Great value with the additional discount from my GolfNow coupon. The course was in good shape. Very flat with wide fairways, but strategically placed bunkers mean you need to plan your shots and execute with a little precision. The greens were very fast, but rolled true. We had a foursome behind us on the first 9 holes that hit into us continually and almost hit me once. The staff was very nice. Food good.

quite liked it

a flat course but fairways and greens are all in great shape. Challenges come from distance (I think 3 par 5s per 9) and wind. For a high handicap golfer like me I enjoyed Not losing balls into rough and water constantly! trees divide fairways for the most part, a little bit of water. bunkers around the greens (but I didn't hit any!). I will definetely go back at my next opportunity. Played with some friendly locals who gave good advice (one had been playing there since '62!)

Good course. Worth the $

Good fun course to play. Be ready to use your driver A LOT and be ready to be able to fade and draw your drives. Open fairways, challenging greens. Pace of play was terrible when I went, the regulars seem to think that they can play groups of 5 and 6.

Add more club

Play here many times. Fairway and greens are usually in good condition. Always windy so club selection is the key to score well. There is no club house if I may say. Only pro shop and small cafeteria. Simple , strait forward , friendly atmosphere , and affordable. with excellent short game practice area. Love to come here.

Fairways

The course is nice, greens are wonderful and fairways are in excellent condition. The only issue is that some players don't fix their divot on the greens. We need to work together to facilitate this problem. Let's be considerate and enjoy the local course.

Enjoyable Golf

Very, very surprise at the condition of the course despite the drought on the West Coast. Although, they do have their own private water well, course very well maintained. Fairways well mowed and rough manageable for the player.
Green fee price was excellent, carts very good and course is easily accessed for first-timers.
Yes, I would play the course again with a reasonable green fee.

Salinas Fairways 1st-Timer

This course had the look and feel of a championship course. There were lots of wide open fairways to tempt a player to "grip it and rip it" but I found out, mid to high handicappers are best served by resisting the urge. The course had a fair amount of dog leg par fours and all the par 5's are reachable in two if you hit a 300 yard drive in play. More important than anything, I found the course to be forgiving to the high handicapper ' s errant shots as long as you can locate your ball. The course left me with a good experience despite never having played the course before. I definitely think it was an excellent value for the money spent.

Great course

I have only been playing since December of last year, and really enjoyed this course. Challenging without being overwhelming to a beginning golfer. Will definitely be going back many times. Wide enough that I only lost one ball, and I know where it went, but couldn't get to it. Plenty of room for slightly errant shots. Highly recommended.
