What a lovely find !
Played hear for the first time, and despite ending up drenched, it was a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. Good old fashioned miniature greens, undulating fairways, mature trees to go over, greens and fairways in good condition although first cut of rough a bit "ball grabby", although cutting was taking place on the day. Short course with just 3 par 4,s, but still a good test, heartliy recomend a visit - you will not regret it
Good bang for your buck
For a £10 round of golf you can’t really complain. It’s situated in a beautiful area of Dorset, around historic buildings.
The good bits were me and my partner basically had the whole
Entire course to ourselves, it was extremely quiet and a nice relaxing round of golf.
Disappointed again!
This is second consecutive game that was booked only to find that events were taking place that made the 9th/18th hole unplayable.
On occasion 1, an event was taking place in the abbey and the green keepers were oblivious to my play and continued mowing disrupting hole 16.
On occasion 2, a marquee was erected that again made hole 9/18 unplayable.
Is it too much to ask to be notified when events are taking place and so the booking process is not functional like during term time?
Definitely the last time that I'm playing at there.
Course conditions
Joe and team yet again have kept the course in excellent condition
Great Course
Great course, we were the only ones around, the only thing I would suggest is pulling up a map of the course before you play which can be found if you google milton abbey golf, as the course can be confusing, otherwise perfect.
Course conditions
As always the course was in excellent condition shame we can’t play more often such a waste that you can only play school holidays
Course
Having played here several times the course as always is in excellent condition
Great for what it is!
It is just 9 holes in a parkland setting. There are no “golfing” facilities whatsoever so you just roll up and find someone in the school office to report you are there. Best to print the course plan and scorecard off the web before you go.
Course is a halfway house between a long pitch and putt and a regular golf course. It is IDEAL for start-up golfers. I took my two young grandsons there. They loved it so we went back twice First time they had been able to play “proper” par 4 holes. We will play it again the next time they visit
We’ll done Milton Abbey school for making the facility available
Great day out
I have been playing this course for the last fifteen years during the summer holidays..It has been improving year on year and despite this dry summer it continues to improve.
A most enjoyable days golf
Course markers
Course in excellent condition considering the dryness could do with proper yards and par signs not the tacky laminate ones on plywood no expense spared otherwise excellent
Unique large, beautiful pitch & putt.
Difficult to describe Milton as a golf course as its essentially a mishmash of pitch & putt together with a couple of ok short par 4s, I wanted to hit some balls while on holiday having brought a vintage half set along with me.
Having never heard of this place and reading the description I wasn't sure what to expect, the back drop couldn't be more stunning as the 'course' is laid out in the grounds of an Abbey that is a private boarding school. As a couple of hours spent in gorgeous surrounding swinging a club its excellent especially when i had the whole place to myself, but as anything like a traditional golf course it's miles from that. The staff are abundantly friendly which deserves a mention, if you want to play golf but not at all seriously it's great, just don't come expecting a well manicured championship venue with facilities to match.
Service charge
Excellent well maintained course as being a member before it became pay as you play not happy having to pay service charge
Poor greens
Greens were in a poor condition and impossible to putt on
