Fun Course
This is a fun course to play. They have 4 holes that you have to carry over water and the greens are beautiful. For the price, I can’t think of another course i would rather play in the area. The Marshall is great and makes sure everyone is having a good time and pace is good. Always a great time playing Westlake.
Fun ,fast paced round.
Having played here a handful of times we usually the white tees, we decided to play from the blues this time around. This was nice got to hit different clubs than I normally do since the yardages change up. Pace of play was great ,we got done in just 3 hrs. This course is always in good shape , my only complaint is all the goose droppings around the greens sometimes even on the greens. The grass on these greens makes putting a challenge for me, can't ever really get the hang of these greens..
Dont play here unless...
You like slow play, grumpy starters, people stealing your golf ball or goose crap in your shoes. This is not a course for anyone who can play golf or cares about the game.
Short but fun
Its a short course but well kept and some water on a few holes. Today the greens were still sandy from being punched a few weeks ago and it was windy but still worth it with a hot deal from golf now. Its a great beginners course and still great to practice on even if you aren't a hack like most of the folks on the course. I'll be playing there again in the future.
Good conditions and nice pace of play
What more can you ask for... early Sunday morning tee time, quick check-in, teed off on time and finished in 4 hours. They've added some nice additional landscaping along the perimeter of the course and a few areas within. These are marked as ESA (environmentally sensitive areas), so take your free drop and play on. Small snack/food area just inside coming off the 9th hole and a nice bar with friendly service.
It was very nice. However, I was not aware that they allowed Five-Somes!
The starter let us go early as the three some you had a matched us with was late!
Short but enjoyable and excellent crowd
I usually prefer long and grueling courses as I enjoy my driving and wood plays. This one's fairly short at the longest tee only being 5000 yards. But both times I visited here, I just loved the crowd. I just hate those trashy people cursing, spitting, loud and obnoxious and they are almost everywhere. People here are mannered, mild and know common courtesy.
Course wise, again, it's short but fairly well maintained, not super crowded, even if it is, people here all seem to know how to keep the pace. It's pretty easy 67 par course. And today it rained a bit which was just mesmerizing.
Had fun playing...not a long course, but held my attention. Hooked my 2some with a single who made the play all that more fun. Beer was cold in the bar after the round. Will be back.
Started at 6:45 today t box had too groups in front of us everybody trying to beat Cali heat wave pace of play was good but greens a bit slow other than that great day for golf.
An Fun, Casual place to get your game on
This is a well kept, easy, and fun course. There's a few holes over water, trees lines the fairway, not too wide but easy to play your ball from the other fairway.
I liked the conditions of the fairways, not too dried out, rough is playable.
Staff was nice and friendly. It was not busy because it was hot.
I'd play here again for sure.
I was reminded why I haven’t played there in a while
I was recently reminded why I had not played this golf course in a while. After making a tee time at 8:30 I arrived to the course to be told I had been moved back to 8:45 because everything filled up. Not exactly sure how I could book a tee time at one time then get moved because it filled up. Regardless I waited and got a few practice swings in. 8:45 came and went without ever being called to the 1st tee. At 9:00 I finally went back into the clubhouse to inquire what was going on. The gentleman in the pro shop was clueless to my tee time and said, you are off next. I was sent out as a single behind a five-some that all rented clubs and did not hit a single shot more than 40 yards a swing. The Marshall riding around the course did absolutely nothing enforcing pace of play. It took over 5 hours to get through this short course.
The kicker to the entire experience was that my 8:30 tee time that I was pushed off from, they sent out a two some. I will never be returning to this course.
