Silo/Sleeping Indian at West Woods Golf Club
About
The West Woods Golf Club offers a variety of different playing options since it features three different nine-hole courses that can be played in 18-hole combinations. The combinations change each day so each time you play here is guaranteed to be a little bit different. The Silo/Sleeping Indian course is the smallest of these public courses at 6,722 yards from its longest tees. The course features water hazards that come in the form of ten lakes, which are situated, on the facility's grounds. The greens are medium-sized and sloped. On the West Woods premises there is also pro shop and on-site teaching pro.

Reviews
Great value
Great layout, was in really good shape and wasn't too busy on a Friday.
Very nice
Course in great shape. The greens were perfect an fast.
Well maintained, fun layout
I played the Indian/cottonwood combination and really enjoyed the course. It contains a lot of risk/reward shots with wide layup areas but high reward for well placed shots (#1 green on cottonwood is drivable for some but you need to carry a small pond). Course conditions were very good and the layout is a lot of fun as well as great views. West woods is now one of my favorite affordable courses along with Fox Hollow, Homestead, and Raccoon Creek. One word of caution, if you struggle with putting as I often do, this is probably where you will feel the course is the most challenging. They are some of the more dramatic undulating greens I've played in the area, not really any flat areas.
Great local course
Had a great time! Course was challenging with many feature. Course is well maintained!
course well kept
course in great shape pin placements were a little tough
Awesome course, awful price.
The course is in tremendous shape , as it should be, since they put 1 million gallons of reclaimed water on it per night! They must have a pretty large operating expense which is reflected in the exorbitant prices. Maybe they should start marketing for country club memberships to stay afloat? Or maybe for the same price I'll join Rolling Hills.
Great course
The course was in great shape but they were working on tee boxes and greens were still a little bumpy. Had a great time, staff was friendly as usual.
Sand traps
Course was in great shape but the sand traps were not maintained. Many rocks and uneven playing sand surface was very present on every trap. Also no beverage cart out on the course until 11am? Missing a $ opportunity westwoods.
awesome course
Loved this place. The fairways and greens were well groomed. Obviously they take pride in their course and it shows. The food was awesome, I had a green chili breakfast burrito! The staff was friendly. My only complaint was pace of play but it was a busy Saturday so that is to be expected.
Bad staff
I've played this course many times. I love each of the 9 hole courses. The staff however never makes me feel welcome. They are rude and seem to never care about anyone. How hard is it to be just a little friendly at the golf course? I bought some rounds for west woods at the golf expo which is the only way to do it at this course. This way I just give them my prepaid coupon and I won't get put on tilt by the unfriendly, rude staff. Literally the only interaction I have with the staff is checking in and they make it feel uncomfortable.
A great walking track
West Woods is one of the most enjoyable walks in the Denver metro area. Not a long course. Favors the player who can play in control. Big hitters have no advantage here except on a few holes. The greens are what you would expect here: Slow and bumpy. But if you can get the ball to the hole, you will rarely blow it by. I would recommend this course if you enjoy walking and want to work on your shot consistency (especially from the tee).
Beautiful layout , Shotmakers course
Always enjoy playing here.
Lots of water and bunkers if you miss the fairway.
Greens rolled very nice .
The course is difficult for the average player fit, still very enjoyable.
The course is a challenge. However, the scenery is great with great views of the Rocky Mointains and surrounding area. I will play there again.
ok shape for the time of year
looking forward to playing it in the summer when its in premium shape
Had a great time, course was in good condition
Had a great time, course was in pretty good condition
Staff is abusive
Golf course is beautiful and challenging. Several of the staff members are abusive and discriminatory. They like to tell you how or how not golf on the first hole. You will not feel welcome on this course.
Fossil Trace is a better course and the staff is professional and friendly.
One of my favorite courses in the state
3 different nines play very differently and they have mastered the puzzle of utilizing all 3 nines to increase the pace of play. Silo is my favorite 9 but you wont be disappointed with any combo of 9s you draw. This is a 70 dollar course that you can usually play for under 50 even on a weekend through golfnow. My Signature holes on all 3 nines are #5 on Silo #7 on Indian and #1 on Cottonwood.
The course is in excellent condition.
Excellent course for the average golfer. Wide fairways, several
holes have water but do not come into play. Course is in excellent condition. I will surely return.
Beautiful elevation changes
The course was in great shape. Pace was slow, but a 11:42 tee time was to be expected. Great weather and very nice course.
