The long second hole, a par-4 which doglegs left to reach this raised green, measures 439 yards from the blue tees. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

No. 4 at Tunxis White is a tight par-3, its green guarded by water and by Town Farm Road. Par is a very good score here. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

It’s gorgeous scenery, but a watery grave will be the fate of golf balls falling well short of green eight. Ditto for misses long or left. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

My path to green twelve was crossed today by two families of Canada geese. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

A pond bisects the seventeenth fairway, and may tempt big hitters to fly it off the tee–if their desire is a wedged approach. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/05/2022

Among the premier holes at Tunxis White are those with greens set on mini-peninsulas. The par-4 seventh is the first you’ll encounter. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Eight. Par-3, 164. The second peninsular green may give some golfers jitters on the tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Ten. Par-4, 347. My favorite hole. A ‘simple’ drive-and-pitch hole to this green, water-guarded everywhere but in front. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Twelve. Par-4, 376. A masterful hole--maybe the course’s best--ending on a cleverly contoured green (upon another peninsula). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Four. Par-3, 176. Overdraw your tee shot and your golf ball will be deep-sixed. That’s frost you see in the shadows. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2021

Tunxis is a solid track
got there early, first time of the day. staff very friendly. played as a single, and tried to stay out of the maintenance guys way. course is flat, with almost no fairway bunkers, but the greens are almost all raised complexes and there is a fair amount of water hazards. Played from the tips and it is challenging. Greens were perfect, but fairways a little thin in spots. would definitely play again.
Awesome
It was like I was at an expensive country club without the huge price tag!!
Thank you for your review. Our priority for over 60 years is to provide the best experience for our guests. We are thrilled you enjoyed your day with us.
Second time here at the White course this year. Conditions are fantastic, yes a few holes are driver wedge, but that being said it's not easy. I had a great time and will be back. If you haven't played it, you should
Thank you for your review and recommendation. We are pleased you enjoyed your day with us. We take great pride in the condition of all our courses at Tunxis and look forward to seeing you again soon.
Great Day
Course was in excellent condition. We moved along at a quick pace. A gentlemen rode up to our foursome and gave us bottles of water. The bar/restaurant was perfect for post golf drinks and burgers. We will all be back!
Thank you for coming out to play. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and look forward to seeing you again this summer.
Pace of play 4 Hours and 15 Minutes
My group kept getting bothered by the ranger. 4 sum in my group on busy Saturday group behind had 3 people with 3 carts. We played 18 holes in 4hr 15 minuets and paid $66.50. Thanks for annoying us after we paid $66.50 each on our day off.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent visit to Tunxis. Our team takes great pride in providing the best experience possible and we apologize that your experience was below par. We have discussed the matter with our ranger and hope you will give us another try this summer.
Great price tough rough fuzzy greens
Pace of play was super quick as no one was there despite being a perfect day. We played in 3 hours as a twosome. Never saw this course so empty especially seeing that the weather was perfect like playing a private club. Rough was heavy and the greens were fuzzy (poa)
Boring
I've never understood why people enjoy playing here. Every hole is driver/wedge. There's little in the way of trouble, even if you're in the rough. Conditions are always average, while prices are too high. Go to Stanley or Rockledge if you're looking for something close, Simsbury Farms or Timberlin if you're willing to drive a little farther.
Great layout and conditions
Felt like we were the only ones on the course for 16 holes
Straight and long
The course was straight and somewhat long. There were not many dog legs or turns.
Tunxis white course
Considering the time of year the course was in good shape. Lots of debris on the fairways. Additional yardage markers would help especially 150 post markers. Overall experience was good, definitely would recommend. Staff was very friendly.
Conditions less than average
Course conditions were not up to expectations. Greens needed to be rolled and cut. Lots of clover in the rough.
Conditions disappointing
Played 18 on the white course. Play was backed up from the start. Played as a twosome so I expected to be waiting but the group in front of us made no attempt to speed play. Conditions were bad. The fairways were long and there was little to discern the length of the rough and the fairways. Likewise the grass on the T boxes was very long which made it difficult to judge t height. The greens and bunkers were in good condition. Overall not worth the $66 paid to play there.
Good time
Pretty flat. Generous landing areas. Play well and you can score. Spray it and you can definitely find yourself in the trees.
A "Rough" Day
I love playing Tunxis..White or Green Course...But come on Management/Superintendent the rough was like it hadn't been cut this year. Had difficulty finding balls that had ventured into the rough. Not sure if it was the weather during the week which halted maintenance but I wasn't pleased. Also, the greens were unbelievably slow. Played the White Course, shot 87 , 10.5 Index...so take it from there. US Kids Tour was playing Green course which was impressive. Let's get the course maintained better, please. Bill V
Tunxis visit
Facility has 45 holes, plenty to chose from, played the white course which is more wide open than the green course. The course features a large pond that has 4 greens connecting within the water feature. Greens could have been cut better to increase speed, bunkers were so so, in need of more sand. Even wider open then green course, still required you to place ball on certain sides of fairway for better approach shots. Very friendly and helpful staff, grill room menu could have been better for such a large facility.
Thank you for your review of Tunxis, We are glad you enjoyed your early morning round with us. We look forward to seeing you again before the snow flies!
