great condition
I've played this course quite a bit in the past and usually in the early spring so condition of the course was adequate, however when played in mid-October this year it was excellent from tees to greens!! Very challenging greens to read! Always seems to break away from the hole the last foot or closer yet not noticeable at first glance. Tons of fun!!
Tom F
Course conditions are much improved over last season. Rick and his staff are the best!
All in all I really enjoy playing this course. You have to play position golf, you can't just grip it and rip it. Much more fun and challenging this way. They did a lot of work on it in 2021 and if they continue with this I would rate it a 5 star course. Love the 8th and 9th water holes!!! Going to buy a season pass for 2022!! Also, enjoy talking to Rick (?) As he's very friendly and helpful.
Sunday Morning
The foursome ahead of us started late, so we started late. The twosome behind us proceeded to say they were going to play through… without asking us if it was ok. Fine, great we’re in no rush. But you’ll be waiting for the foursome ahead of us to finish as we were. We come down the hill and there they are waiting… which now means we have even a longer wait because they’re waiting for the foursome to finish and now we have to wait for them to finish. It wouldn’t be an issue if they didn’t proceed to hit MULTIPLE balls. I tried to flag down the ranger who was down our throats to tell him that we weren’t slow but they went ahead of us which is why we are waiting but he didn’t want to hear it. He just proceeded to stalk us on every hole. Luckily it was a gorgeous day with great company. I’ll be taking a break from this course. Unless i’m going there for food!
Best value course in immediate area
I’m a beginner and this is the closest & least expensive course nearest to me so I’m happy to have it. The “Mote” hole (#8) is always a treat.
No more than $12
Not the first time I've played here. They raised green fees ny approximately 30%. This course simply does not command $18 for 9 holes walking. It was in oknshape but olayers should make a habit of replacing divits and ball marks. Good for a quick practice round rather than hitting a bucket.
Hello, thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Minnechaug Golf Course.
Somewhat worth the “Hot deal”
$18 for a hot deal rate for 9 holes… can’t beat that?
course isn’t in the best shape but you get what you pay for. the carts are in horrific condition but they’re scrubbed clean by a staff at least
the main problem was lack of organization… no starter and a bunch of 1s / slow 2s/ 3s that teed off within n 10 minutes of each other. why not just combine them?
a nice group of 3 let me (solo) play through, but then a 2 in front of them, and 2 solos in front of them… like why not just combine them and have a normal pace?
8th hole is kept in good shape (except the t box). Other than that i guess it’s worth the deal but be careful if you’re playing 9 bc u don’t have a lot of time bc the pace is not favorable
Thank you for taking the time to review and leave your feedback of your recent round with us. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced at the course with us. Your feedback is extremely important to us. It is always our utmost goal to provide our golfers with a fun and enjoyable time and apologize if we missed the mark. For further resolution in this matter, please feel free to reach out to our staff in the pro shop. We hope to hear from you soon!
Pace
Slow pace for one twosome ahead of us who had no idea he could take the cart onto the fairway. Additionally he would leave the cart 100 yards short of the green and walk up to putt out leaving his cart way down the fairway. This is an isolated incident of someone who is clueless as to golf etiquette and respect for other golfers. I'll be back though.
A must play in CT!
Pleased with the course layout. Greens in good shape. Some challenging holes and forgiving greens when you need them. Love the holes over the water. Friendly staff, called shop to report a late arrival and they were very cool about it.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Minnechaug Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
