Accuracy
Yo! Chill out y’all. It’s a cheap local course. I had a blast. I walked and played solo. Showed up early and clubhouse worker was nice and just let me start. Great little par 3. You better be accurate or want to work on it. Course is a bit tight and greens are small so aim straight pheasants. Greens could use some love but it’s all just about getting better and having fun. If you can put it next to the pin you’re good. Great course to work on your short game for the value. You shouldn’t lose too many balls it very wide open. Great family course.
Afterthought
Course is very short. Most of the holes barely break 100 yards to pin. Greens were very pockmarked and two of the holes were mud due to recent flooding. Great practice for short game and we were the only ones there for a while so that made it worth the money. If it were crowded, I would’ve felt like I wasted my money.
Reality Based Review - Cross Creek
This is a short par three course. It provides an opportunity to work on short game. It’s easy to walk. It’s easy on the wallet. The golf pro wasn’t there when I checked in but the employee who assisted me was very friendly. Pace of play was not an issue. I think playing this course could be quite rewarding. What I’d like to do is hit my tee shot right onto the green and putt it on in. Alas, my short game is not dialed in so I bumbled my ball mostly forward until I holed out. Good practice.
The course conditions leave much to be desired. It’s not going to win the beauty contest. Greens are very small. Layout is confusing in a couple areas, even when checking the scorecard layout.
In life we take the good and the bad, no different at Cross Creek. Maybe with the golf surge they will put some money into the little course, I’m hopeful they will because it’s a stones throw away from me. For that reason alone, I’ll grab the small bag and head back out there to work on short game. Play well.
Great little course
This is a great course. Not too hard if you’re trying to work on the short game. I was there early, so pace was not an issue for me. The greens looked great. Will definitely be back
Meh
Not the worst but it’s a very cramped and tiny course and on two of the holes on the front 9, from the tee box to the green was covered by deep mud, fallen branches, and trash. other than those two holes it was fine but it was near impossible to play the two muddy holes.
2nd Time
Surprisingly, there was a stark difference between my first visit and second visit. There was pretty bad damage to the bridges which connect to 8 of the 18 holes on the course, which were completely blocked off - unfortunately, these 8 that were impossible to play are some of my favorite holes on the course on my first visit. This resulted in a lot of people playing the remaining holes twice (makes sense), but it ruined pace of play for me. Some of the greens are terribly maintained (playing on dirt instead of grass - patchy), and 3 of the holes are very close to the road, which may make your tee-off stressful if you’re not comfortable with your control (there are no nets). Unfortunately, I probably will not be back to this course bc there was still animal fecal matter all over the course, and I’m not sure the repairs to the bridge will be done anytime soon since the greens don’t appear to be maintained. However, if you’re looking for the cheapest course in Atlanta, this is it, but you get what you pay for.
Friendly, In-town Par 3 Course
The perfect meld or low-key, enjoyable golf and a chance to sharpen your short game on a cute, Par 3 course. Easy to get to for Midtown and Buckhead residents. Only minor drawback is that we had quite a few kids on practice rounds, one of which was in front of us for a few holes. Easy enough to skip a hole, though so pace of play was actually great. Think we made all 18 holes with a two-some in about 2.5 hours. Perfect for a casual Saturday where you want to play a full round but may not have all day to do it in.
