Still recovering
Cart paths a mess, greens half dead, not the same course I played years ago
The one course with the Green card not worth it
Greeeeens
I understand they are dealing with a disease but why not notify anyone!
Most of the time I was having to hit off dirt on the T box
Same as five years ago
Not sure what’s going on over there. I believe money is being skimmed away from the course. With sll ehe development around the community you would think they would try to improve course conditions. Where is the money going? Staff wearing a mask. Totally unfriendly. Asked about cash. Money going into pockets not the course. It could be a good course and will hate to see another one go away.
Atrocious and inexcusable
I used to play here all the time in high school. I returned for my first round since then yesterday and it’s as if no maintenance has been whatsoever in the last 8+ years. I can’t stress enough how putrid the condition of the course is. The greens have giant craters scattered all over them, putting is playing plinko. There is no difference between the fairways and the roughs, as both have tall grass that will hide your ball. Good luck finding a patch of decent grass to tee off from on the tee boxes. Even the cart paths are awful and honestly dangerous. The only good thing about this course is you won’t need a brush to clean your clubs, because it’s impossible to take a divot out of the concrete fairways. Seriously… don’t waste a dollar here. There are so many better ways to spend your day and your hard earned money.
Atrocious. Putrid. An embarrassment.
I used to play this course all the time when I was in high school. I just returned for my first round of golf here since I graduated, and it’s as if no maintenance has been done in over 8 years. There are craters all over the greens. There is no difference between the fairways and roughs. As a matter of fact, the roughs may even be better because of how rock hard the fairways are. The only good thing about this course is you won’t need a brush to clean your clubs, because it’s impossible to take a divot from the concrete fairways. Cart paths are dangerous. Such a shame to see the nose dive this place has taken since I played here all the time in high school. Won’t ever come back. Don’t spend a dollar of your hard earned money here; I promise you there are so many better ways to spend your day.
I was hoping to see improvements
My Dad and I got to play golf for the first time together in over 3+ years. We agreed on Collins Hill for location as it is in between me in Winder and he in Suwanee.
I booked on GN app and the guy in the Pro Shop did not see my reservation under my name, but did find it under guest. Slight problem solved and we were told we could go a little early. Starter and all staff were very friendly.
We began play and I remembered why I had not made an effort to play this course again over the past 2+ yrs.
The tee boxes were ok for the most part, but I had trouble finding a flat area with nice turf on several of the tees. My Dad had trouble differentiating between SR/JR/LADIES tees. Red and orange markers were in odd places on several holes.
Most of the Bermuda around the greens had gone to seed since it had not been mowed in a while, which i was a little surprised since it was the day after a holiday(busy weekend).
I know the late winter cold snap was tough on greens, but the condition were seemingly unchanged since last time I played. From bare spots to very low sunken areas on some greens and virtually no sand in the bunkers made play more about just having a good time with my Dad as we rolled the ball often to improve our lie.
Ultimately, I am glad I did not pay more than $40 for each of us. Until I am told of improvements, I probably will look for other course to play in that price range. Also, the cart paths are TERRIBLE over most of the course. But then again I don't feel guilty about driving the carts in the fairways either on this course due to fair/poor conditions.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We see you rated the course 2-stars and are interested in learning what we can do to improve for your next visit.
We take customer feedback very seriously at our course. Please reach out to our team in the golf shop and tell us what's on your mind.
Going downhill
I used to play here often because it was affordable and well maintained. Now it is more expensive and in way worse condition. Terrible greens and rough fairways. Maybe new owners or something but it’s changed for the worse. I’ll pay a few more bucks and drive a little further for a better course.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We understand your frustration with the current course conditions. Please bear with us as we work diligently to make improvements. We hope you'll give us another try in the future.
Has so much potential but not taken care of
Ive played this course a few times now since it is very close to my house. The course has alot of potential to be both stunning, challenging, and fun, however the greens are very poorly maintained and the cart path is nearly destroyed and not properly marked off as under construction or damaged. For the price of the rounds as well as the high peek prices for the same value course, i would avoid unless going off hours.
Hello and thank you for your 5-star rating! We're delighted you enjoyed your round. Please book another round with us soon, and thanks for choosing Collins Hill Golf Club!
Pace was great. Hardly no one was out . Will return soon.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate your business. Collins Hill Golf Club thanks you!
No Course is perfect
Collins Hill has been my home course for the past 10-11 years. I play all over Gwinnett and Hall area. But when im playing as a single this is where i come. I use the flaws and a bonus because if you can play here you can play anywhwere. The best staff around hands down. I bet in a few months the greens will be perfect. KEEP SWINGING!
Thanks for the amazing review and for choosing Collins Hill Golf Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Course is in bad condition, with every green in bad shape. The greens were so bad you could not make a straight putt. Not one tee box in good condition. Cart path missing in several places along course. I will not play there again.
I agree. They are siphoning off the money from the course. No maintenance is being done. It won’t survive if it doesn’t receive the care it needs. I won’t be back for another year. It will take at least that for ANY improvement.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again in the future.
I just wanted to play
It rained the night before I went out which explains the sloppy fairways bit not the greens. We should have been given a discount for having to play such terrible greens. The staff didn’t let us know the greens were in bad condition.
The course was challenging with lots of hills and several blind shots.
Overall, I accomplished my mission of playing 18 holes but it would have been nicer if the course conditions were better.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. Please know the current conditions are by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards a 5-star experience and we hope to see you back!
Embarrassing
The greens are absolutely horrible. Hard to distinguish between the fairways and rough except for the dirt patches, which you might find on both. Even the cart paths are atrocious, and borderline dangerous. First-time playing it, so expectations weren’t high, but I won’t be back. $59 for that course, no matter when or why, is highway robbery!

Has Potential
This course has great potential but the greens are destroyed
They have the bar in the clubhouse but it's always closed.
Thanks so much for your review. We appreciate your feedback, and we hope to see you again soon at Collins Hill Golf Club.
Good value but …
Easy course layout which is great for the beginner. Green way and tee box is in great condition. However the cart path and green conditions are very bad.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Collins Hill Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Don't Bother...Seriously
I have played Collins Hill GC for quite a while. I remember playing junior tournaments and high school golf matches there when the nines were swapped. I have even volunteered there when I was a freshman so I could play for free. The sad truth is that the course was just as bad then, as it is now. First off, the man behind the counter barely looked up at me or greeted me in a friendly manner when I walked into the clubhouse.
The golf cart I had had to have had a max speed of 5 because I could run faster than the cart, and I am not a heavy guy. Pace of play wasn't terrible, but incase you are new reading this, if you are holding up a smaller group behind you, let them play through your group. It's just common courtesy and makes it easier for everyone to enjoy their round.
EVERY green has dead spots and al sorts of uneven grain. The middle of the fairways feel like light rough at an quality golf course. The tee boxes have either no turf, or it feels like you're teeing off out of the first cut. The conditions are just plain terrible. The only reason I even decided to play there was that it was close-ish, and at just under 30 bucks, well, you get what you pay for.
If you are even remotely serious about your game, or have any sense of taste, GO ELSEWHERE.

Severely overpriced
The course is in terrible condition. There is hardly any grass on the greens at all. Dirt fairways. I would not recommend this course to anyone. Absolutely way too much money for a course in this bad of shape.
