Best place to play in Milledgeville
Little Fishing Creek Golf Course is an excellent course overall. The greens are kept in more than reasonable shape. The course has a challenging layout that is guaranteed to swallow some of the slicers/hookers alive. If you want to play well on this course you need to either hit straight, or control your slices and hooks. The practice green is large and nice. You can chip from around 20 yards away before the club house tells you that you need to come back closer to the practice green.
The driving range is fun but short, only 250 yards, and the grass there is hit or miss.
The only problem I have with this golf course is SOME of their staff. It is hit or miss when it comes to who is working that day. There are 2 gentlemen there who are disrespectful towards younger golfers, but everyone else is very pleasant with me when I come in.
Good course
Fun to play only downside is the tee boxes were very hard and need to be aerated but had a great time very challenging
Great Course for the Price
If you're considering playing this course, do yourself a favor and go. This is a really fun course with some tricky holes. The course was in excellent shape. The fairways and roughs both had grass with very little to no dead spots. The greens were the only downside. A few of them were pretty bumpy, but I've seen worse. The clubhouse doesn't offer much to eat, but they are remodeling it so I think that will change soon.
Great strategic course
Great greens, blind shots, strategy a must. Like this kind of course!
Best course in Mid-Georgia. Fairways are very well kept
The speed of the greens was fast. Staff was very business and nice. I really love the front nine.
Good overall
Great value!! Nice course, fast pace of play, very reasonable price!!!
great course
Great value, tough course particularly for women, very long. Clubhouse needs lots of work but course in beautiful condition. WWe'll be back!
Greens
Greens are to hard. Good shots don't hold on the greens.
Fist hole can be a challenge,
Up and down hills, inexpensive round, we'll maintained, friendly staff, would make an ideal home course.
Okay Course
Not many options in the area to play, lots of blind shots, greens were slow but rolled true. Good value for the money if you are out of town and want to get out and hack around. Nice layout with a few challenging holes, the back plays easier and is shorter than the front.
Fun course not much water hazards
Lots of hills with some blind tee shots. Not knowing the course hard to know where trouble may be. Par 3s were long. Overall good layout greens OK.
Just enjoy
Tee boxes hard, fairways were in decent condition but hard and the greens were very slow in the front nine but finally got faster through the back nine as the weather warmed up. Quite a few "hidden holes" from fairways that are hilly. Had to drive past my ball a few times just to see where the green was. On this day my ball flew from the fairway to the green due to the hard fairway conditions which was a good thing for me. Lots of dog legs as mentioned in the course description. Price for cart/green fees very reasonable and the time played was perfect. Never a back-up and played straight through.
Fun course
Course doesn't play that long but features a lot of dog leg turns that force you to focus on shot placement to score well. Best time to play is early in the morning. Greens get hard and fast as the day progresses.
Looking good
I've played here a lot. Almost stopped going last year because the course was never in good shape. They've changed it around. The greens are rolling nicely, which is huge. You still get some crazy bounces, but overall, I'm really pleased.
Great little course
I love any course that Gary Player designs. Bring your short game and be able to draw or fade. Makes the course a lot shorter.
Great value
Loved the course. Some folks playing behind us were not very considerate and hit a ball into our cart while we were riding and did not apologize. Did not appreciate this at all but otherwise a great afternoon of golf. Will definitely be back to play again.
Interesting challange
Due to the extreme undulation of some holes, it was difficult to know when you could safely take your next shot, not knowing if preceeding players had cleared the fairway. I preferred the back 9 holes to the front 9. Enjoyed my round and will play again.
Hilly course
The green were well maintained as were the fairways. The course is so hilly that on every hole you are shooting blind. A single hooked up with us on the back nine and his knowledge of the course helped . On 18 it is best to shoot over the green on another hole so you have make sure no one is putting before you tee off. Unique!!
Interesting Layout
The majority of the holes are uphill off the drive which effectively limits distance. The one complaint I do have is that from the whites the par 3's are especially hard. I have played this course 3 times and have yet to get less than a 5 on the 2nd hole par 3.
This course is for average golfers looking to play a cheap round
This course is ideal to average golfers and "hackers" who are looking to experience no more than a cheap and friendly round of golf with friends. Some of the holes can be difficult to score on because the grass in the fairways are the same as the grass in the rough. Also, you can not see many of the greens from the fairways, so you are forced to hit blind shots. There are no red stakes either so if you hit a bad shot out of bounds you have to re-tee. The course is wide open though, so don't expect to hit many OB. Course knowledge is definitely a factor in how well you play on this golf course.
