Tee yardage
5500 is long for mid 70 year olds, but 4600 was a little on the short side, 5000-5100 silver's would be nice. Coarse is in great condition, and fair.
Great course worth the ddrive
Course was loaded but pace of play was very good for the situation. Greens were a little slow, but in general the course was in great shape for the amount of rain we have had. Only minuses were no GPS on carts ( which I don't mind, have my own), didn't have club/ball cleaners on cart either. All in all was great day.
Pinecrest Golf Club Huntley
Pinecrest Golf Club Huntley Great course for the value of what we paid fairways and greens were in outstanding shape especially when it was wet out 3 1/2 hour around can’t beat it
A great surprise
It's quite a drive from where I live out to Pinecrest, and I didn't know anything about it. Priced at $28 on golfnow, I wasn't expecting much. Wrong. Pinecrestis a great track - not alot of straight out and back type holes. The tee boxes were some of the best I've seen anywhere, and the greens were in great shape. The starter drove over to the driving range to let us know that we could start early if we wanted since there was an ope time slot. There were some regulars out there early and they moved! The pace was great. It was well worth the 45 minute drive.
Excellent conditions
Getting better all the time in great shape
Greens and fairways
Tee boxes are in the front for conditions
Great place to play Nd hang for a beer
Great Shape!
Course played well! In great shape, especially after all this rain!
Very well kept course. Nothing breathtaking about any of the holes but it was maintained so well. Fairways to roughs to greens. Top notch. Greens were up to par with the best courses in the area. I probably wouldn’t play it again because the course is just a pretty standard layout but it was a pleasure to play because of how nicely maintained it was.
Nice and Slow
The course we very well groomed... unfortunately there wasn’t any rangers out to help speed the round up and keep folks moving along.
Granted I was a single this round, I had four elder gentleman playing in front of me, one man had a hard time walking.... this group, who was talking approximately 13 min per hole, caught up to a foursome in front of them that were taking even longer. My front 9 ended approximately 2:45 min later while I was allowed to play through two precious foursomes (thank you)
When I made the turn, I was fully expecting for some of the foursomes to conclude, and I pulled up on the 10th to a foursome just heading out to the fairway, same group in front of me previously. I decided to just pull into the parking lot after that, even though I paid for 18.
Best Value In The Area
This is a park district facility in Huntley, IL. The management of Pinecrest has recently been taken over by Kemper Sports. The maintenance is top notch, the golf and hospitality staff are excellent, and the course layout and tee options allow for a challenging or fun round. Green fees are extremely reasonable for a course of this caliber.
