Nice Layout - Needs Big Time Attention!
Liked the layout of the course, especially parts of the front nine that you will experience height changes. #7 in particular is extremely challenging for the normal golfer [elevated narrow fairway]. Most of the fairways were okay, but need thicker grass and mowed a bit more often.
Greens were in pretty bad shape, some even having deadpan type areas on them [shut 'em down for a week or two and let a few get back to where they should be at a time]. Greens are also a good challenge undulation-wise. Would definitely play it again if the greens were a 7 or 8 out of 10 - right now they are about a 3 or 4. Not good.
Best Deal You May Ever Find in a Muni
International has been in business for a long time under various owners and is now run by the city of Warner Robins. It is your classic municipal course, so set expectations accordingly. That being said, it is in pretty good shape. The recent reviews being all over the place is strange. Intl is a quirky course: par 34 on the front, 38 on the back. Front is tight and narrow; many folks won't need to hit driver - but on the other hand have at it! Back opens with loooong par-5s then some tight holes with spring-fed ponds. Practice facility is decent. Yes, there may be crowds at times particularly retirees.
That being said, you can get a Hot Deal to play here for less than $10. You can't play or get a cart for that anywhere else. If you want to play golf, rather than have a golfing experience, Intl is for you. Great place to learn the game.
the course was tough for a novice player like me . I love this game..
The major issuse i have is the water out pn the course need to be cold. The course features will be great once the grounds get right now.
Horrible
Let me start off by saying there is an old man who smokes that runs the pro shop he is SUPER RUDE! I arrived for my tee time a little to early and asked if I could go ahead and play seeing that there was only four cars in the parking lot including mine. He was very rude telling me no. The greens are hard as rock and in horrible shape. The fairways are pretty much just hard pan, you can't get a divot at all. The bunkers are holder its rock hard sand. The cart paths also horrible. This golf course overall is just horrible. If you can play for under $10 then go ahead but if you have to pay over $10 you are wasting your money unless you like to be greeted by a rude old man in the pro shop and play a HORRIBLE golf course. SAVE YOUR MONEY IF YOUR LOOKING FOR GOLF IN WARNER ROBINS DO NOT GO HERE!! GO TO SOUTHERN HILLS,HOUSTON LAKE, OR THE LANDINGS!!
Great fairways, rough greens
Course is in the best shape I've ever seen it in my 3 years playing in the area. Fairways were lush and full. Only downside was that some of the greens were pretty baked out. One was nearly impossible to putt on (#10). The back nine is the only section where driver is even pulled out of the bag while some holes are deceptively short with water guarding the greens.
Weird Booger of a Grassy Canyon
The first few holes offer some blind dogleg par 4's...I had to ask a kid who obviously plays the course regulary for advice on a tee shot because the trees are the biggest obstacle. The fairways are as thin as any I've ever seen. Not until the back 9 can one really feel comfortable about breaking out the driver, and it was at this point that I felt like I was back on a middle Georgia course.
Hard hard hard greens that are very bumpy
Overall this course needs help. Aerating one 9 on the may 20th and the other the 21st should help but tee boxes need work and fairways are patchy. Great new carts tho.
It's a short course that lets you use every club in your bag.
It's an older course that is in the middle of being upgraded, with new carts just added. It's a short course that lets you use every club in your bag. But don't be in a big hurry, its always busy, and there are quit a few retirees that play there on a regular basis. The course is owned by the city of Warner Robins, so changes come about kind of slow. Its a good course for beginners, or someone wanting to work on there iron play.
Good course
Great course for the money. Will be playing this course again.
Course Continues to Get Better
I am a member at IC and I used golfnow to bring some friends out to the course. We used the "fire rate" and were able to play 18 with a cart for $12 a person. Great value. Jarred is doing a great job at improving this course. Just in the last year the course looks considerably better. The weather was great when we played and the fairways are greening up nicely. Once the greens take shape the course will be one of the better value courses in middle GA. I would recommend to any handicap player.
Awful greens, narrow fairways
I am on the fence about recommending this course. The price is good, but the course has some issues. First and foremost are the greens. They are hard as a concrete and a ball coming in from anywhere other than a chip around the green is going to run well out if not off the green. The fairways are very narrow in places almost to the point of not being able to find them especially #5 and a few holes on the back side. The positives are that the Pro Jarrrad is working really hard to improve the course. They have added new golf carts, done some work on some the tees as well as up keep on the range has improved. Overall if you are looking for an inexpensive round of golf and don't mind losing a few golf balls then you should give it a try.
the course was in very bad condition
very disappointed in the course staff treated myself and my friends. they were very rude to say the least. the course itself was not in very good shape either. we want be going back anytime soon and will not recommend anyone else to go.
Golf experience at international city golf course
It's a good course I really enjoyed playing the course. Only thing I really it needs more directions to the holes and the greens need to worked. But overall I love the experience and I would play the course again thanks
Possibly not fault of course, but greens were very wet(rained day before). Fairways pretty good, rewards accuracy. Some pretty tight tee shots.
Heard entire course re-done in last year, so shouldn't expect too much so soon. 10th tee is long way from 9th green. Will check again in summer season to see how well maintained. Have to make allowances for time of year, weather.
Great value for this unique course
Enjoyed the round. The course has new electric golf carts and a very friendly staff. Coupon from GolfLink reduced price by approximately three dollars per person. Course was in decent shape considering the dry early winter conditions.
The front nine on this course is quite challenging. The fairways are tight and surrounded by trees. This course will challenge those players will a slice/fade. Many of the holes are serious dog-leg lefts with hidden greens. There is not a lot of water on this course.
Back nine has two par-5 holes that are open offering relief after playing the tight front nine.
Be advised: This course does not use tee times during the winter season.
this is a short but fun course
this course has a fun setup and plays fairly easy but it is not in the best condition. The greens are inconsistent, and the tee boxes and fairways are not well maintained
Great for the money
The course has come a long way over past year. It is a work in progress after remapping the course, moving greens, cart paths moved, and all new sod laid down. The course was in pretty good shape and they have brand new carts. I look forward to playing the course over next year to see how much progress is made with the new items mentioned above.
Great course for iron practice
I like this course, its in pretty good shape . Sometimes the rough is cut a little higher than average . It seems to play pretty short and I only use the driver on a couple holes. If you need to work on your iron play this would be a great course to do it on . The price is very good and the range balls are plenty full and cheap .
Ive had the same experience with that ole fella ur right . I play quite often there and im astounded that the city would continue to employ these unfriendly , no down right rude employee's. The whole pro shop staff needs to be replaced by people who appreciate the customers .Unfortunately the GM cares more about his studies then how his course looks or how his staff handles it's needed customers, Jarred should also be replaced and start with a total new GM and pro shop staff!
