Gr e at course, windy setting probably always
Good views from course,
With rain drops some areas stay wet
Everything about this course was great!!!
All of the personnel we met were super friendly and helpful with whatever request we made. The course was beautiful, and considering the previous days weather which was very rainy and windy was in excellent shape. We were at a slight disadvantage as this was the first time we played here and the hole locations and the directions to them was not always apparent. I would highly recommend this course to any one wanting to play a first class golf course on KAUAI.
Golfnow did a great job refunding the fee for the rained out day and rebooked the outing at a lower rate than the original rate.
I will use golfnow for future golf excursions when needed.
2-3 club wind. Courses wet due to recent rain. I very good shape
Greens on front nine slow. Much quicker on back nine. Fairways and greens in good shape. Front nine much more difficult than back nine.
Beautiful views, one of the nicest courses on Kauai!
Had a great day! My play left a little to be desired since I was on my first day with a set of rental clubs, however that is not a reflection on the condition of the course. Kauai Lagoons is a beautiful course and challenging due to a few blind shots off of the tee. A person could score better on their second round. The last four holes are the most challenging , so be ready and save some energy in the reserve tank for the end of your round. The wind will come into play on those holes more than the rest of the course. had a great day of golf despite my score!
Awesome layout and spectacular view
Very challenging course and beautiful, the price should be more affordable for Local Kamaaina rates.
Very friendly staff.
Course in great condition. It also had some personality- very imaginative holes with elevation changes, bunkers and water.
Great Course, Great Views
This is a beautiful, well maintained golf course. The back 9 have been renovated, the front remains to be done.
Part of the course runs along side the airport and it's quite a sight to be golfing with planes coming in. Other parts of the course have amazing ocean views including some holes where the greens project out to the sea.
Highly recommended, especially if you can get a good rate.
This course is great for a fun day golfing!
Very well taken care of. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The course is very playable for all levels.
This is a beatiful course.. It is challenging, yet fair..
This 27 hole course has varied conditions from rainforest to ocean.. The Moana nine has some great ocean views.. The pace of play was great for a Sunday.. Loved my round here..
Good course, well maintained (though not pristine). MOST of the staff are friendly.
We booked a 1:30 tee time and got a good price (around $80/person). The sun sets around 6:30 this time of year so we thought we'd have plenty of time to finish. The course was not very busy and there was never anyone behind us so we took our time and enjoyed ourselves. What we didn't know was that they have a rule that all carts must be returned to the clubhouse by 6:00. That seems like a silly rule to me, but we would have been fine with it had we known about it. We weren't aware of the rule until a marshal approached us on hole 16 at about 5:45. When we informed the marshal that no one had told us about the 6:00 rule, he was very confrontational and basically called us liars. After that very unfriendly encounter the marshal left, but then returned later to again confront one member of our foursome while he was alone in a cart. He again asked what time we teed off and if we were informed of the 6:00 rule (he already knew none of us were aware of the rule). Our group member was then asked where he was from and what time his home course closed. So in both conversations the marshal was rude, argumentative, and not at all helpful. After deciding to obey their curfew, we skipped the 18th hole and returned the carts to the clubhouse right at 6:00, only to see several players come in several minutes after us. When we calmly explained to the person in the clubhouse that we were not very happy about the situation, we were basically dismissed and told there was nothing they could do. It's a nice course and I would play it again, but only if they get their act together.
Golf along the Coast
When in Kauai, what's the point of golfing inland? This course is Nickolaus designed and the back 9 features 4 consecutive holes overlooking Nawiliwili Bay and Ninini Point. Too much left hook, and that ball is lost to the Pacific Ocean. Even the front 9 has you hitting over lagoons and gorges full of forest. We scored a Hot Deal during the middle of the week in the early afternoon and felt like we owned the place. The starter did a great job on pacing and we never had a group breathing down our neck, and we never had to wait for anyone to finish on the green either. I highly recommend this course. Well maintained, good challenge and stunning scenery.
Good course with two very different nines
The course was very enjoyable to play, fare but challenging. For the most part the landing areas are very generous with the premium being placed on your approach shot with good green side bunkering. The two nines are very different from each other. One being an ocean side course with nice vistas and the other being more of a parkland course. We would absolutely play this course again.
Several visually spectacular holes
Very enjoyable course to play. The Moana nine holes include several holes along the coast with gorgeous views and challenging approach shots. Greens were disappointingly slow, given the condition of the rest of the course. But there were many "Sunday" pin placements that required creativity to get close.
The Moana nine is must play!
The Moana nine is a must! Try to play on a day that the minds are low.
Decent Course in Average Condition
Overall OK but only with price discounted via Golf Now. Some areas of fairways require more upkeep. Greens fast and in excellent condition. Cart girl excellent, Snack shop worker could be generously considered as rude to dismissive. Get your food/drinks from the cart, (She will even drive to the clubhouse and bring you back a hotdog if you are nice). Excellent views on the incoming and tough final 3 holes.
Great Course
My only criticism is for the Mauka (front nine) bunkers. Some of them were hard pan and pretty much unplayable. (We managed to stay out of the bad ones the second round we played!!)
Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in fine shape, and the ocean side holes on the Moana nine are jaw-droppers. Staff was friendly and quite helpful.
Moana nine has outstanding ocean views!
We were 1st off in a.m. so played at our own pace and finished in 3 hours. Very pretty course, with some very challenging holes - #6 & 7 on Moana nine require previous experience to play properly. Staff very accommodating when we discovered we needed to change tee time because of a flight schedule change.
pace of play was a bit slow for the conditions
Hot Deal was great. Pro Shop was very pleasant. the Second time in a week we played this course.
Nice course but it was quite wet in spite of low amount of rain.
Played this course 22 years ago and, if memory serves, it was better then. It was very wet, lots of muddy golf cart tracks and unfilled divots. Had to play lots of lift, clean and place. Staff was very friendly. It was great to play it again but it was in better shape back the first time. At the price, not quite up to comparable resort golf.
Some of the most beautiful holes I've ever played.
Wonderful experience, like playing in the jungle. The wind kicked my butt. All in all, a great experience.
