Great Track
Nice course,
Richard is super friendly and helpful in the pro shop.
LBS Golf
Joined this club two years ago. Love the course! The groundskeeper does a fantastic job every single day! Challenging but fair. The owner of the course is separate from the homeowners association. Very nice layout and great upkeep!!
Just not worth the money.
First, they bill this as a semi-private country club. However they have no amenities one would expect. No food, no booze, no starter, no marshal, no golf pro, a pathetic pro shop and very little staff. The course conditions are poor. Many of the traps are so hard that balls usually bounce or roll out. It's too bad that a course that could be worth $70 a round is so poorly managed.
From trying to get in the gate, service was terrible course was overpriced and the greens were not that nice
Remove this course as an option
I booked a hot deal same day on golfnow and was refused access to this course because it's on private property. The guards will not let people into the community that are not a community member or playing with a community member. The security staff directed me to the proshop, (via phone) and th pro shop confirmed they could not approve my acess because of the HOA rules. Golfnow called the course and after escalating 3 times I was given a refund instead of a credit. Don't waste your time trying to play here. There is a massive disconnect with this site, the HOA that the golf course is on, the pro shop and the security staff.
I wasted 2 hours driving there and arguing with everyone on a transaction that should never been offered or approved.
Incompetent staff
This is a private course and the security people have no access to the golf now reservation and do not let people in. The clubs house said there was nothing they could do and to ask golf now to take them off the website. It's a complete failure across all parties involved.
Unable to access golf course
The security guard wouldn't let our group enter the property because we weren't members of the community. Do not book here.
Have always enjoyed the layout of the course with a variety of holes. Course is in good condition with the exception of sand traps which need new sand terribly for can’t do any explosion shots and many cart paths need repairs.
Don't book a tee time.
They wouldn't let our foursome enter the property to get to the golf course because we weren't members of the community. An unbelievable lousy experience.
Not What You Would Expect for a Semi-Private Track
Arrive very early to allow for 15 minutes of negotiation to get thru the LBS guard gate. Once you are able to get past the gate, it doesn't get any better. No beverage or food service and a staff that has a difficult time communicating in English. I called the day before to ask about a driving range and was told "yes, we have a range". My fault for not asking the right question, I should have asked if the range was going to be open. So, no range and of course there is no starter. To top it off, our cart died on 16.
It's frustrating since the layout is good. Too bad ownership is apparently clueless.
GolfNow is at fault for selling tee times for a course you cannot pay!!!
GolfNOW sells tee times for a course, LBS, that will not allow you to pay!!!!
1. sign up for a tee time on GolfNow.
2. Go to the course.
3. Lake Barrington Shores will NOT let you in.
Why does GolfNow allow this to happen?
F’ing Disaster
I really liked this course until yesterday. We weren’t allowed past the gate. I managed to go to the Pro Shop where they tried to get me to join the club for $200 or $2000, which i gracefully declined. There was a line of cars waiting to get past the guard house and everyone was being turned away. I have no idea what they did with my Golf Pass reservation. Sadly, I will not be returning to LBS.
Waste of time.
Didn't even get to play. The course is semi-private and allows public tee times, which seems great. I email the clubhouse to put down our names for the guard house and was told we can't play due to them not allowing public tee times now, yet they are still selling them on GolfNow and their website. I was lucky and got my money back but now I've seen reviews of people that haven't. Be aware.
A hidden gem!
Enjoyed the day, and the threesome I joined up with. We moved right along throughout all 18 holes. Course in very good condition, but the traps were not yielding at all. Highly recommended.
