Good experience/ Over priced!
Nice course! For a $140 it’s too much ! Played many courses in better shape and layout! No food at turn except hotdogs!
First time. Last time.
This place had a lot of hype. Disappointing though for all of the status and name recognition it has.
Course was lack luster.
Cart paths were in poor condition.
Staff was cold. My starter wasn’t even there and I had to wait 10 mins to get guidance on carts and which hole I’d be starting from.
Not worth the money. I’ve played at park districts that felt better and gave a run for the money.
Terrible Condition
Course was in terrible condition. Greens were slow with flower buds appearing on the greens grasses, anything off the fairway was swallowed up by long rough and rough cuttings. Dead patches spread sporadicly across fairways. I played this a few years back and it was quality, although expensive. This week it was like an unmanaged parkland course. Most expensive round for mediocre golf in Chicago. Will not be coming back!
Hiding in plain sight
It’s been pretty damp the past few weeks The rough (anything off the fairway or the fringe) is lush and thick. In other words, miss the fairway and you risk the chance (high) of losing your ball. Fairways were rolling and the greens a little slow. Overall, below average conditions for an otherwise excellent track.
I’ll have to come back when they have the mowers out and have more than one beverage cart.
Treeless in Chicago
The course was fun to play. I totally enjoyed my experience. The staff were helpful and friendly. I mean the whole staff was great. The course layout was amazing, the greens were fast, I went out as a single and didn’t feel rushed nor did I have to wait to tee up. This maybe my go-to course in the area.
Challenging
The course was in excellent shape and has definitely earned it’s course/slope ratings. Your’re in for a treat, but pack an extra sleeve of balls
Worst Value in Golf
Dollar for dollar the worst value golf in Chicago. Over priced tee fees ($80+ for their “Spring Rate”). Charged for a “bucket” of balls that was maybe 10-15 balls (found out after I bought it). The course was so wet that I found plug balls on nearly every fairway. Had to give up the round after 9 with how wet my shoes got. Don’t think the course should’ve been open. I’ve played here a bunch and always been annoyed by the higher prices relative to the quality (it’s often a swamp). I will be avoiding more than I usually do moving forward. Better options around the metro for significantly less $$. Finally - the anchor hole is so gimmicky and dumb.
Perfect
Course was in amazing condition and stayed open when it was warm in December!
Frustrated by inability to request refund
I schedule my tee time a week in advance, unaware that Golfnow not deals didn’t allow refunds. The weather was nasty but since the course was still “open” we had to play to get our moneys worth. My friend and I quit playing after 9 because it was so cold but “per policy” we wouldnt receive a refund from our Hot Deal on GOLFNOW. It’s frustrating because I enjoy the app but am hesitant to use it again due to the inability to receive a credit on this particular booking. A nasty loophole.
Harborside
Really enjoyed playing the Starboard Course.
Tee Boxes need some care and the cart paths in desperate need to re-blacktopping but course & greens were great
Beautiful October Day
Couldn’t ask for better weather this late in the season. Light breezes, not as windy as usual. Course was a little wet and the rough was extremely deep, but if you kept it in the short grass, you were good. Greens ran great..a few tees and fairways on the back were punched, but not terrible. Number 17, with the pin back right !!!! Knocked it 5 feet....best shot of the day!!
Need to do better
The halfway house continues to be out of items and has a hard time keeping stock. Saw the cart girl once on the 15th hole and restaurant and bar were closed at 2:30 pm on a Sunday for an event. The rest rooms on course were in terrible shape, damaged, dirty and falling apart. There isn't anyone at the bag drop to receive bags or load them on carts. The beverage cooler attached to the cart was full of trash so the cart wasn't cleaned for the next round. Covid is no longer an excuse for poor amenities at this rate. If you're going to provide less then charge less.
Windy and Challenging
One of our favorite courses close to the city. The wind is always there, so pack extra balls. They had aerated the greens the week before so still putting was a little off here and there.
