Indian Mounds
I like this course because I am still trying to improve me game. It is a great course for starters.
Horrible
Those that run this golf course have no clue what they are doing. I have played golf for more than 40 years and this has to be the most unorganized and complete mess of a ran golf course I have ever seen in my life. They were letting eightsomes and sixsomes on the course and even let a sixsome in front of a twosome making the turn to the 10th tee.. I and my husband met multiple people on the course frustrated by the slow play and even told us about how they were skipping holes just to get their round in. As we got to the 16th tee we were informed that a junior league would be taking over the back 9 in 10 minutes and that if we could not finish just go play some extra holes on the front 9. THATS NOT HIW THE GAME IS PLAYED!!!! So to add fire to this I stopped in the pro shop to speak with the person in charge. And was told that it was a practice course and that they let sixsomes play ! You can’t let sixsomes play on a course that’s mostly Par 3’s with only 6 par 4’s. Pace of play is not able to keep steady if you let this happen. Obviously the ones running this are not looking at running a course properly just the almighty dollar!!! It is evident that the running this course has no clue how to nor knows how to work with the public when he was very rude to me because I made a complaint that he didn’t like and kept saying that it wasn’t a real golf course and that it was only a practice golf course! I guess that is supposed to mean not to expect anything !!! I will give one kudos to this place and that is Don in the pro shop that works Fridays on couple league night. He is always polite and always makes sure this are running smoothly on the course whenever he’s around.
Rough area and course
Definitely off the beaten track. Appears to be a rough area. Course plays well though greens were in bad shape. Super nice staff
My Go To Course To Get My Game In Shape!
I love to play this executive course! Always a great deal on Golfnow.com. Great place to work on your iron game and get a lot of practice with your short game as well. Friendliest staff in the St. Louis Metro Area! So nice to play 18 holes in less than two hours!
Decent course for the $
Good course to practice your short irons on. It seemed overbooked and moving really slow.
Beginner’s course!
For the price and friendliness it’s great for beginners.
Mosquitoes in swarms
We were interested in trying the course and supporting them. At check-in we explained it was our first time there, however there was no mention of the mosquitoes and definite need for bug spray by the attendant. We made it through two holes and had to quit. I will say there were other golfers out there, but they must have been coated in mosquito repellent to survive. When we asked for either a refund or a "rain check" the answer was there was nothing he could do. It wasn't raining. Hard to support an establishment that isn't willing to work with you to get your business. The Greens were in fair to poor condition with major bare spots.
Great little executive course
I've played Indian Mounds numerous times over the years. It's an executive course with at least 6 holes requiring driving with a driver or FW wood. The course is usually in decent shape as are the greens. Note though, this course sits in the old Mississippi flood plain area. It's relatively flat and after heavy rains will have spots on the course that become swampy or water logged. It's a great warm up course and the cost of $15 which includes a cart is a bargain.
