Prairie Bluff Public Golf Club
About
Prairie Bluff Golf Course in Lockport stretches across 237 acres of gently rolling hills covered with native prairie grass. The course has a links-style layout that can play much tougher depending on the wind speed that day. Overall though, the course is player friendly enough for any skill level. The layout is open with few trees and the fairways are wide and forgiving, taking away some of the intimidation provided by the bordering rough. There is also water on the golf course, but the hazards that come into play aren't overly strenuous. You can still expect some challenges from the minimal but strategically placed bunkering. Besides the golf course, Prairie Bluff is known as one of the area's hidden gems for its outstanding restaurant, which is known especially for the barbecue brisket.

Links Style Golf
Fun course, has room to spray a bit. Have played here a lot and has a nice practice area.
Have fun and chose the right tee!
GREAT shape
I didn't know about this course until this year but upon discovery I now have played here multiple times this year. Course is one of the best maintained courses around here.
In good shape
Course has held up well with the long dry spell. Fairways well watered. Greens were true.
Any wind will double in strength out here. Fortunately, we played on a fairly calm day.
4 hour round. Nice lunch in the clubhouse, with great service. Overall, a very enjoyable round.
Great Condition
Course was in great shape, soft fairways, and didn't see any ball marks on the greens. I will be returning here the next time I find a hot deal.
fairways arrayed
great course but will not be back for a while while I was playing on 8/24 they were arrayed the fairways which makes it impossible.to get a roll or any type of flat lie for the next shot. stay away till next year.
Great experience
Teed off at 11:50 on a beautiful Sunday as a twosome, didn't wait until 16th hole and played in 3:15 despite not knowing the course and looking for balls a few times. Layout was fair and scoring opportunities are there. Greens rolled smoothly, occasional unrepaired ballmarks...I don't get why people don't repair them. Only criticism is they don't let beer cart leave the path.
first time not the last time
I enjoy links golf so was looking forward to playing here for the first time. Overall was a positive experience. Layout and conditions were great and the $65 I paid was market value for what I experienced. Electric carts were a plus and the bartenders and staff were great. Always helps the review when you shoot your best round of the year! I'll def be back.
Nice people and nice track
really like this place. great layout and friendly for high handicappers. course was in good shape and the staff was friendly as usual. highly recommended
Nice Links Course
Prairie Bluff is a fun course. The layout isn't daunting but can be challenging. Wind is usually a factor. The course is usually in very good condition , pace of play is generally good. The staff is always professional and easy to deal with. The bar/restaurant is exceptionally nice with friendly staff. The patio is a great place to hang out after a round of golf. Weekend play has gotten a bit pricey but GOLFNOW offsets that nicely.
Course is in Unreal shape
Course was in phenomenal condition when we played. Sand was well raked, fairways were in mint condition. I'll be on the lookout for deals at this course.
Links Style Track
I have played this nice course in the past and will continue to come back. Really enjoy the layout with some challenging holes from the gold tees. Wind was down when I played so made the course very getable.
Conditions Were Perfect!
The conditions of the course were absolutely perfect. Fairways and greens were well-manicured and rolled very smoothly. The bunkers were raked and had plenty of sand, making them very playable. They had the rough shaved down a bit, which made the open layout play fairly. Played in just about four hours on a Saturday, which was very nice. Overall, it was a very enjoyable round on a course that is in beautiful shape!
Windy & Warm on Mother's Day
Course was in absolute perfect condition. As a twosome, we played in just over 3 hours riding on a fairly empty day. Staff was terrific. This course has excellent practice facilities and challenges you to use every club in the bag. It is links style and winds were in the 25-30 mph range even though weather channel said they were 10-12 mph. It's a tremendous value with a GolfNow discount and it's usually much, much busier.
great conditions
one of the very best Conditioned public our session in Chicagoland
several interesting holes
links style, so not much has scenery to speak of
Immaculate Shape
I guess I'd call myself a bit of a golfing snob now a days. Mostly play higher end courses and don't mind spending a few extra bucks for better conditions. So that being said I played this track April 24th 2017, and the last time I played at PB was sometime in 2015. All I can say is WOW! Course was in impeccable shape and so impressed. Overall this course is kinda of easy but when the wind picks up and you play from the back tees this course can be super long. Paid 40 bucks at 11am and that's a great deal even in April. Will be back several more times throughout the year due to the nice conditions.
This is a good course in very good condition
Is an average golf course, links style so always windy. Course was in very good condition for time of year, staff very friendly and overall a good experience.
great links course
excellent day of golf for November course was great and greens were outstanding
