Good challenging course
Excellent thick fairways. Great layout with undulating terrain and course elevations. Greens tricky and hard to read. Some of the tee boxes were devoid of grass. Some of the low areas were mucky when wet. Carts were great with GPS showing yards to hole. Staff were sanitizing the carts when they were turned in. This is first time I have played and I drove 30 miles to get here. I WILL definitely be back. I like the course. The staff was friendly and briefed us on the course.
Beautiful Day for Golf
The greens were fast, the pace was a little slow. But that's not unexpected with PERFECT golf weather. Centennial continues to do a great job on course conditions. Keep up the good work.
Excellent Fairways, Overall Condition, Carts, Personnel
I give this course 5 stars. Between the tees and greens it was immaculate. Our cart was equipped with GPS, paths were in good shape. I loved the layout. There was a drive-able par 4 with some risk, 18 is a very pretty hole and a fun final approach over a ravine, 17 was cool too I felt it was a 3-shot par five but someone who can play a good cut might think otherwise, and there were other par 5's you can grip & rip and reach in 2. We played as 2 behind 4 and still finished in 3.5 hours, awesome. The young lady running the beer cart was nice. My wife and I didn't drink much but she still offered to fill our water bottles after the round when we saw her in the bar. I dinged one star for tees and greens. The greens, they were soft and I think people just need to fix their ball marks. Its not the course's fault. If you play, do them a favor and fix an extra ball mark on the greens. I'll be back.
Great course but a lot of blind shots.
Being built into the hills, many blind shots were encountered. Fairways were terrific, greens were pretty good too but abused by unrepaired divots(disrespectful golfers). Lots of terrain and elevation changes. Come out and enjoy. Staff were very pleasant and informative, even though we had a Golfnow Hot Tee time, that rarely happens.
Cart path only?
It wasn't until our cart basically stopped in it's tracks on the first hole, that we were aware it was cart path only. It was hot and humid, and the layout of the course is NOT conducive to this type of play. If I had known BEFORE we went out I would not have played. The greens and tee boxes were not in the best shape. Lots of big buds burrowing on the greens leaving half inch holes. Also, we waited every hole. The staff was very friendly.
comeback course!!!
The golf course is in the BEST shape it’s ever been! Just a few years ago the greens were in pretty rough shape and now they are in fantastic condition! The pro shop staff & kitchen staff are extremely friendly! The carts have been upgraded and now have GPS (you can view the whole entire hole, the pin location on the green, and it shows how far away from the hole, and how far you hit your tee shot) it’s very efficient! Overall, a fantastic course and highly recommended it!
In great shape!
The golf course has never looked better! Their golf carts have a touch screen that can play music and give you a gps of the course. The staff are all very kind and courteous. I’m sold as a customer for years to come!
Wet and Rainy
This was a pretty fun round! Did not expect the torrential downpour that happened, but even after the course was in wonderful condition. I reserved as a single thinking they would pair me with someone, but I found someone on the course to play with.
Great course conditions
They've done a great job getting and keeping the course in great condition. Greens were excellent. Now, if we could get ALL players to fix their own ball marks. Keep up the good work.
Very nice course
Course was in great condition. Seems like condition gets better and better each time I play here. This is becoming one of my favorites here in Knoxville. Keep up the good work.
1st Time Centennial
Fairways and greens were in good shape. Tee boxes need a lot of help. Interesting layout with some challenging carries. Carts with "auto braking" was a new experience, but some of the steep grades make it necessry. GPS built into the cart was a nice touch, just took a bit of trial and error to check distances and return to the previous screen.
Person checking us in asked us "please repair your divots on the greens" and understand why he emphasized this as we played.
Playing on a Monday, they had just put fertilizer down, but had not watered it in. Clubs constantly had to be cleaned to remove crushed fertilizer pellets.
Played on a "Hot Deal" with a coupon so very low cost round .
Overall, great course
This is a challenging course with narrow fairways on some holes. The course overall was in great shape. Some tee boxes were a bit lacking of grass. Overall, I would recommend this course.
Great Location and great play
Pace was wonderful! Great weather, even with the rain yesterday. Downpour, and the course was in great shape!
GPS in the carts is a lovely addition and feature. A good mix of open holes for players like me, and some “target golf” Where you can’t use driver off the tee, which most courses fail to have.
Will be returning!
Too Dang Slow
Weather was perfect. Company was great. Pace of play was incredibly slow. They allowed a 4-some to play at a 5-hour pace through 12 holes before they were asked to speed up. By then it was too late. Round took 4:55. Way too slow for that course. I always enjoy Centennial's layout. It was great that they had a cart girl selling drinks on the course. That helped with the slow play.
Gone downhill
I’ve played this course for years on and off and I’ll likely not be back. It is not being run well at all now. It’s a Socia environment not unlike a fancy country club, except the quality is that of a municipal goat ranch. Your high-tech cart will beep and ding at you constantly to slow down, remind of of their alcohol policies (no joke - 6 times before the 1st tee), speed limiters, and constant warnings. They are SUPER concerned about people bringing outside alcohol onto the course. There was no cart service. Trash cans had not been emptied, pro shop were just a couple kids who were disinterested. Bathroom was dirty, had to clean the seat myself. Poor, poor, poor.
ive never seen a ranger or beverage service on the course here. i just played and they have had a skeleton crew for weeks because of the covid thing. sounds fishy to me.
