greens
The greens are in exceptional condition. Brought a family member from the Chicago suburbs and he played over 90 rounds this season, he was blown away. The course layout, though difficult, it is very playable for almost every golfer. Grade: A-
Always Recommend
Playing The Ledges is always nice, conditions were next to excellent considering the time of year. Great values on Golf now.
Scenic Wildlife and Fall Colors
Very scenic course, especially holes #13 and #14 which are located in the solitude of the woods by themselves. There is water in play on numerous holes and a creek that meanders throughout the course routing. Various wildlife could be seen throughout the round including deer and fox.
fun course
Very enjoyable round of golf. Course was in very good condition for the first week of October in northern Illinois. Fun and challenging layout. Looking forward to playing again.
Great Open Course.
Great Course, Bad weather so not a lot of people out there.
Nice Course
Nice course. Didn't see any Porta potties throughout the course though. I could have missed them but the tree line had to be used a few times.
One of the best in the greater Rockford area
Uniquely challenging, no "back-and-forth" boring course this. Nearly every hole is completely unique game play, and nearly every one presents it's challenges. Play it safe where you can on the tougher holes because errant balls very quickly add strokes.
Great experience
The staff made it such an enjoyable experience for us. Great price for a great day.
Nice Course
Has some really interesting holes. You can score if you stay out of trouble.
nice rolling course
greens in great shape.played was a little slow, but everyone was polite and friendly.
Every Club Used
Absolutely love this course. I haven't played this course in 20 years and forgot how challenging it can be. You will defenitly use every club in your bag and will need to work the ball both ways. The greens are big and inviting that are somewhat slow for my likening. I can't wait to play this course again and it certainly won't be another 20 years.
Great course
Played for the 1st time, was really surprised on how nice the course was. Wasn't expecting that being a forest preserve course. Played after a big rain so everything was exceptionally wet. One of the best greens I have played on all year. Will definitely return.
EXCELLENT COURSE, LUV IT
How can you not like the Ledges. It's a gem and Golf Now had a time for 10.00 this particular day that I spotted early that morning. NO BRAINER..
Course as always was in great shape
Staff is always nice and the course is in great shape, will continue to play here as it is my favorite course!
very nice golf course
Ledges has a variety of fairway types, some fairly wide open, some very tight & some different twists on doglegs. It makes you think a little. Greens are moderately fast & fairways , greens, and tees are well maintained.
Grand Walter
The course can play tough with some narrow fairways and forced carries.
good challenge
course in good condition, good bargain. Several challenging holes , fair amount of water. greens were in great condition. Keep your tee shot to the right on number 13
fun and challenging course
its a hidden gem
but the locals are finding it more and more , and yes new golfers do need a place to play, but if courses aren't going to hire staff to do the job their hired to do, its a sad comment on the state of golf, that courses are only in it for the dollar.
no matter what your level of golf is, four hours is too long to play around, rangers who ride around and look for golf balls for their own benefit and do not do the job of rangering/marshaling for the simple reason for free golf are not the people that should be in the golf industry.
Tough Course
I have played this course many, many times and love it being on Golf now. If you can wait for afternoon tee times, it's such a great deal. Very tough course, not terribly long but you have to hit straight and there is a lot of water in play.
