Madrona Links Golf Course
About
Madrona Links Golf Course first opened in 1978, and has since become one of the most active clubs in the Puget Sound area. Located in Gig Harbor, the course is conveniently located on the peninsula with easy access to Tacoma Narrows and Highway 16. The layout has a classic links design that is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels. Small, deep bunkers frame both the greens and fairways. Madrona Links requires accuracy, but it's not overly punishing if you're slightly errant. With only gently rolling hills, the golf course is an easy walk. At just over 5,600 yards from the back tees, it's relatively short but you will still face some challenging shots. This popular course is one of the best values in the area.

A well maintained course
The fairways and greens are in great shape, lots of water being used. I also appreciate the practice areas, especially the chipping green. Nice to be able to get a little practice before a round. The course could use a Marshall to move along the slow players. A player must be patient when following such people. There are no controls on slow play.
Review
Played with 3 others, all new to each other. Worked out quite well. Greens above average, fairways well kept and no ridiculous roughs. 2 carts for 4 players worked nicely. Looking forward to my next round.
Another great day at Madrona
We always enjoy playing here because it is close to home and play goes fairly fast. Always friendly people that you sometimes get paired with. Staff is always friendly and food is good.
Always good golfing here
We always enjoy playing at Madrona. Course is in good condition, staff is very friendly, food is good.
Mardrona
Fun day. Greens were quick and rolled true. Fairways fast
Solid value
The course was in good shape even with the lack of rain, and it is a nice distance for those of us that can't crush 300 yd drives.
Hackers
The restaurant is great. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Friendly staff and good times.
The course is fine. Be on the look out. Quite a few hackers on the course who spray the golf ball. If they don't play the your ball, you will probably be hit by theirs.
Fathers day fun
Was a drizzly overcast day. But it was fathers day and it was fun. I wish they had a range that could accommodate my hole bag. Could only hit my 8 iron max. Fun shorter course that had some interesting shots that needed to be hit. Greens were fair. Was a fun day of golf.
Fun
Fun and challenging course. Well taken care of and just an overall good experience
Perfect day!
The fairways and greens are in great condition right now. We were paired up with another couple and had a great time!
Great pace of play
Our foursome completed the round in 3 1/2 hours. Easy course to walk with short distances from greens to next tee. If you are a long hitter you will want to play from the back tees or enjoy trying to reach the driveable par fours from the whites. The course is in great shape, staff was very friendly, and the food is very good. Overall a great value and a place to take golfers of all abilities.
Great condition
The greens were the nest I've played in a long time. The overall course is excellent
Short but fun course
Show up early and have breakfast if possible. Food was really solid in the restaurant. Playing on Saturday of Memorial weekend, I would have thought that this place would be packed, but in spite of a relatively full parking lot our round only took about 3 hours and 20 minutes and we were by no means trying to hurry. Only had a group in front of us for the last 3 holes. Other than that group, we had the course completely to ourselves. I was playing with my father in law who averages rounds in the 110s, and I usually shoot in the low 80s and we both were able to enjoy our round. When I'm playing with a less skilled golfer, I really want to find places where they have a reasonable chance to get by the green if they can manage to get off the tee, and that is certainly the case at Medrona.
Best value for money
After a tree removal project a few years ago - which I initially hated - the condition of the greens now prove why it was a good idea; Very consistent and faster than I remember from previous years of playing here. Still plenty of trees and elevation to make this shortish course challenging, fun and, most important to me, having some sense of seclusion. I don't care how 'nice' a course is, I don't wanna play through someone's backyard! A partner and I have played a p.m. round in under 3 hours, then i've played a weekend primetime round where we were stacked two-deep on the tee box. Usually just under 4 hours. There's truth to what previous reviewers have said about staff - one guy is super nice, friendly and helpful, one seems disinterested - even annoyed that we're bothering him, the other is in-between. But even with the worst of the 3, if you're not trying to get out a little early, they'll get you processed and on your way quickly enough. The food and atmosphere at Hackers is really good - great burger, service is quick and friendly. Irons-only range is a 'con' i guess, but there's just no room for a full range, so get over it.
Great condition
This is in great condition, fast greens and smooth fairways. Will be back.
First good weather day
Since this was a very good weather day and the course was dry there were lots of golfers out so the play was very slow. The course was in good shape and fun to play. The twilight rate is a bargain.
