Very nice course, links style. We've had a ton of rain lately but the course was still playable if not soggy. I really like the course and the layout is great. We play here often.
Great track
This course is always in great shape even in spring. I am a 11.3 handicapper and pretty much play everywhere and always enjoy a round here. It's a links course so if the winds are blowing just add a few strokes to your round and enjoy. Greens are always challenging so like most courses, stay below the pins or it's going to be a long day. New patio deck is great to relax with a cold one afterwards. Oh and if you like a Brat, must try one here.

Very fun course
I try to play Shepherd's Crook at least once per week from April - Oct. Course is always very enjoyable (except when it's extremely windy) and tbe pace of play is usually pretty quick.

Hidden gem
Tucked away in the north east corner of Illinois, this is a links style course that is in excellent shape and a joy to play. Worth the ride!

Great municipal course!
This course is hard. I'm an 18 handicap and had my tail handed too me. The ball almost always settles deep into the rough. The greens were fast, not the most receptive, and had tons of undulation. Even though this course mentally demoralized me, I'm excited to go back and try to redeem myself. One thing I learned about this course is you do not have too be a long hitter here, fairways are the place to be. On most par 4's, 210-240 yd drive leaves you 110-150yds out. You do have to be a decent putter or you'll be 40+ strokes of just putts. Putting is key at this track.

Course is in pristine condition. Greens running fast and true. I've been playing golf here for a long time and it is in great shape. Got paired with a 3some and we had a wonderful time ☺.

There is absolut no Information at the tees or on the scorecard how the fairway is running and how the distances to e.g. the bunkers are. Why did we got no course saver at the proshop?

Great Gem
Course was gorgeous ,got to play with some locals and they knew how to play. This is a fantastic golf course , I only wish I stayed closer so I could play it more often.

Great course
The course was in great November condition. The greens were quick with lots of undulations. Some of the pins were in very challenging placements, but I enjoyed the challenge. Shepherds Crook is one of my favorite courses to play. It’s worth traveling 40 miles to play. I’ll be back often.
