Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Kentucky (2016 #13)
Reviews
Pleasantly surprised!!
Looked for a course between Louisville and N KY and saw Cardinal Hills. Thought we would give it a chance and glad we did. Course was in great shape, greens challenging but fair, course not long but accuracy is required. Staff is friendly and courteous, and when they charge 1/2 what you would pay at most public courses you have the recipe for a great day of golf. We will definitely return.
The Hills Have Hills
Very hilly course in northern Kentucky. The layout takes superb advantage of the great landscape. The greens are in tremendous shape; however, the fairways are almost 100% Kentucky crabgrass. That being said, the price with a cart is very good, the layout is great and greens were in great condition.
This course is well worth a play if anywhere near here.
Needs mowing
I have played this course several times in the past few years. It has always been a quirky, fun, little country golf course, The people there are always friendly. The greens are usually in pretty good shape, and you can play a quick round. This time, however, the rough was probably 4-6 inches tall everywhere except the greens or fairways. You could easily lose your ball two to three steps off of the green or fairway, and playing out of the rough was ridiculous for the average player. It became tedious and frustrating. Hopefully, they will remedy thie problem, but I could not recommend this course until that happens.
Nice Northern Kentucky Course
I played this course for the first time this past week, and I really enjoyed it. The greens were great which I believe makes a course. The course was short at only 5600 from the tips, so it was lots of driver or three wood then wedge into the greens. The tee boxes needed mowed, but other than that everything was pretty nice. We got on a hot deal for next to nothing and it was well worth the money.
Fun Course for a good price.
Was the first time playing the course and it was a very enjoyable layout for a course on the shorter side. The course was in really good shape for a course in this price range. The staff was very nice and accommodating. While a little far out from Louisville to play often, would for sure play again.
Just a fun round
Simple, short course. Greens are in general or condition, rest of course in average condition. Staff is incredibly nice. Not a fan ought challenge, but a really fun round of golf.
Pretty good value
The greens were not very fast, but the grass was very thick and coverage was complete-only 1 bare spot-fairways were a little thin-This course is a good value if you can get a hot deal
A True Little Gem
40 minutes from downtown Louisville, but worth the trip. Compact but challenging layout, currently in terrific shape. You can really see the love and attention this family-run course devotes to their property, and it's great value with their Hot Deal rate, or even without one.
Hard to find a more enjoyable day on the links, and the landscaping, vistas, and warmth of everyone you meet are truly rare. Go!
Great country course
Pace of play is very good. Staff is very friendly. Greens are in great shape. Highly recomend playing this course.
Great people
This is a short, rolling country golf course. The fairways were showing the lack of rain followed by cool temperatures that we have experienced, but the green were still rolling well. If you are looking for a laid back place to work on your game, this is it. The staff is always fantastic, and everyone makes you feel welcome.
Nothing fancy but very enjoyable
You can't find a more laid back atmosphere". Everyone is always extremely nice. It is a short country golf course that is fun to play. There are a couple of difficult holes, but many holes to help your scoring. All in all, an enjoyable day.
Great Value .. YOU need to play this course
A fun course to play. 40 minute drive from Louisville.
Those who play it usually Play it again.
Nice little course
Cardinal Hill is a fun little course can't be the price
Not for better players
I have to first say that the course staff was beyond amazing. Very help and inviting. They provided some insight into the course. The course layout is tricky yet fun. It's a shorter course so beginners and hackers will have fun. The condition of the course was poor. I thought based on reviews it was going to be in decent shape but it was not. The greens were the best part. Fluffy but very puttable. The rest left a lot to desire.
