Course is challenging BUT course management needs to be improved ! Neglect to cart-path , teeboxes and bridges over water ! Two stars
Course has been poorly maintained for years ! Cart path , tee boxes and bridges ! Irrigation issues with old inground pipes ! Poor man’s course with high green fee’s ! Bad management ! Old country club course !
Not what I expected
Thought this would be a lot nicer course. Tee boxes awful, cart paths a mess and my god that bridge over the lake was terrifying truly didn’t know if we’d make it across. Fairways decent layout ok. Lots of blind tee shots. Seems over priced for what it is.
Tee boxes like concrete
The boxes were hard as a rock and the greens were also like concrete pace of play was waiting about 8-10 minutes a hole course would be very nice if the greens got watered
This place is a farm with greens. Tee boxes didn’t have grass. From tee to green was dried up crab and Johnson grass.
Greens were great. Rest of course was hard as concrete . Cart paths need work. Course outlay is nice. Very scenic.
You get what you pay for
Consistently one of the cheaper rounds in the area. Very up and down conditions to the course. Greens today were about as long as a typical fairway, and the fairways were about as long as you can expect the rough to be. Giving a 4-star from the countless times I’ve played this course and been delighted at rate with different outlook. Looooove the layout of the course. Best summary to Longview, for me, is you get what you pay for: an up-and-down level of consistency to pleasantly surprise you one round (like the one just 5 weeks ago here) and one round with abysmal upkeep.
Course not in good shape
They are reseeding the fairways and have most of them tilled up and grass gone, not a good deal and no fun to pkay
Longview Preview
Fairways were killed by spraying for crabgrass. Needed to be notified fairways were destroyed. Tee boxes should have had more care. Almost impossible to get a tee in the ground. Greens were in good shape. I like the course layout and options for play.
Great Value and a Great Course for Beginners
Long View is a great value. While the course layout doesn't challenge some of the better courses in the area, they do a great job maintaining the greens and provides a very affordable option.
It is a particularly good course for beginners. Only a couple of holes require a significant carry over trouble and it is very forgiving to short/offline drives.
Hilly some blind shots
Pretty open, stay out of the rough. The fairways and greens were in nice shape except no one fixed their pitch marks. Otherwise enjoyed it.
Cart paths look like mine fields and some rough also
That bridge is so bad, If they don't do something, someone is going to get hurt and sue them hard. They've had plenty of warnings now. I have an outing there in a few weeks and I'm already trying to figure out how to go around that, I don't even want to attempt that bridge again.
