Not worth it
Course conditions were poor. There are no fairways and little upkeep. The pace of play was awful. Not Allowing a 5 some to slow the entire course down is common sense. Just a poor layout and overall not a great course. The starter was rude but the rest of the staff were nice. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Course in very bad shape
I’ll start with the staff was great, the course layout is great, but it was in horrible shape. It’s too bad, because the layout is very good. I was visiting and wanted to get in a quick and will probably not return there. Only because the course is beat down and it’s obvious that no money is going into it. That’s too bad, especially since it’s a city course. The gentleman I played with said none of the other city courses are in such shape, I wonder why that is.
Good Value
This is a nice track with a variety of holes. The staff was excellent and the golf fun. I'll play here again.
Okay
Let me start by saying we play this course all the time. We enjoy it because we know the layout now and they have some pretty decent holes. Also, the staff is phenomenal in my opinion. The lady who usually runs the front desk is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The pro is really cool too.
That’s unfortunately where the good ends. The past 4 times we’ve played, there have been at least 3 groups stacked up on the first tee. It’s absolutely no fun sitting for an hour on the first tee and teeing off an hour past when your tee time is supposed to be. If it happened once, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but this is every single time recently. Also a lot of the people playing here have absolutely no etiquette and have no issue hitting balls on you. We get hit on nearly every round and rarely receive an apology. I will say, when this course is under 20$ (offseason) it’s definitely worth it. Now that it’s $38, you’re better off spending the extra 10$ and playing almost anywhere else.
Much Improved GC
20 years ago, when the city ran it, the course was pretty bad. Then they hired a contractor to run the city courses and they improved. Now with the course closed for two months, they really improved it, especially the greens. They aren't professional fast, but they are smooth and uniform.
Forest park in early March
Our threesome was first off - an hour before our scheduled tee time. Grass just beginning to grow in the fairways. Most greens in good condition. Ranger in the course. Wasn’t cart path only after last night rain we had a great time on the course. Good food special on the 19th hole. Friendly staff. Played here three times last year. We will be back
Can't Beat The Deal
18 holes plus a cart for less than $20. It's good just to walk around, improve your game, make a couple good Tee shots, maybe a birdie or par. For a beginner line me, I'd be there every day.
Excellent for the price
Great course to work on your game. Staff is.super friendly. .greens are in decent shape. Fairways are ok for the price you pay.i always use golfnoe and constantly buy up the forest park deals. Can't beat it!
Great Value! Fun Course.
Great value for the cost, usually moves pretty quickly but had a slow one on Friday AM. Greens are pretty solid. If it rains heavily the night before the course holds a ton of water. Fun and easy layout. Not a bad place to play at all. Definitely worth a shot. Good utility course for those last minute rounds or solo rounds.
