Keep it in the fairway
Very good course but unforgiving if you miss the fairway.
Excuses, Excuses
Course was in great shape, Target golf in MD. This is not a course for beginners or high handicappers. Surprisingly deceptive course. However, it is ridiculous that on a day of 100+ degree weather and high humidity that there were no ice buckets on the course, the cart lady only showed up twice and never had any ice. Using gov't restrictions based on the pandemic as an excuse for not having water stations is a terrible excuse and showed reckless endangerment towards your clients which they would be held legally liable. Other courses in the area make sure to provide those type of safety features to the point of handing out free water at the turn, handing out popsicles, water coolers, etc. Saving grace was the general manager realized the severity of the situation and gave us a discount to encourage a return visit. We'll use that incentive in a much environment, perhaps early fall.
Pace was very slow
Rangers were non-existent. 97 degrees and play was agonizingly slow. Only played 11 holes. Will only use this as last resort course until this is resolved.
Glad it's re-opened but....
This course seems to have more issues with the course and practice facilities than any other course I've seen. This evening, the Tee times were doubled booked and then they closed the driving range at 5:30. Who closes the driving range at prime time right when people coming home from work want to stop by?!? I've been there and the putting green was closed and not for a legit excuse such as aerating but something that could have been addressed at a different time of the day. The management needs to get a better handle on what's going on day to day or else they will start loosing customers.
Wet day at Ike
The area received 1-2 inches of rain the day before our Sunday morning tee time, so we expected the course to be wet, as well as Cart Path Only. This made for a longer than desired 4.5 hours round.
The greens were very consistent, the fairways and tee boxes were in excellent condition and the layout was enjoyable. We played from the Green tees (middle of the five options).
We will return, hopefully for a drier day to enjoy the course at its finest.
Ike
a great outing and course.
the speed varied from hole to hole
I tried to give a car key to a field Marshall in the parking lot and he seemed to busy to stop so I had to walk him down to give him the key in case someone was looking for it.
recommend pay attention to your customers
Pricey and Nice
This course is a bit pricey but its in very nice shape and its the first time I've played it since it was totally renovated & recently re-opened. The layout is slightly different but the condition of the fairway and the reshaped greens are dramatically better. I paid just under $50 for my round, which was OK. The rack rate is $65, which is on the high side. Its the type of course (about 45 minutes from home) that I would play a couple of times a year. If you are a senior living in Anne Arundel County, it costs $32 to walk during the week---now that's a bargain for a course this nice!
