Fun Public Course Outside of Boston
This has to be one of the best public courses just outside of Boston. Management noted on both the website and GolfNow that they just aerated the course and to expect those conditions, but the course played much better than that. Just like other public courses, some of the fairways were beat up and muddy, but a majority of them were great for mid-April.
For myself, who rarely takes a cart, there are some steep hills, which makes for some steep climbs, that are tough to walk.
Overall it was a great experience. The staff was extremely friendly, the course was fun to play, and I will definitely be coming back to South Shore Country Club.
Pre season review
Pretty nice for a pre season condition!
Teens are playing on week afternoon, might impact pace. Fair price paid.
Green are still recovering from the winter (end of March review).
Go to spot
Course layout is great. Greens are always in good shape. No slow rounds.
Always a good time
Great course even in this drought. Only downside the beer shack was still not open at 11, and no beer cart.
Hilly but playable
Really enjoy this course every time out— they have reworked some bunkers and they have beautiful contours to fairways with some wonderfully placed trees— tricky greens that are very quick with slope and some are tiered— great challenge from the blue tees
Pre season full price?
Greens punched and sanded...paid full price
In April...range closed cus too early
Get with your real value and charge pre-season punched greens rate
Review
Played here multiple times. Course is nice if you get a deal very worth playing. Quiet during the week. The staff is very unfriendly in a typical hingham way. Trying to get any words out of them is like talking to a wall.
Early season
Decent shape for April. Greens recently aerated but putted well. Rookie twosome held up play on the back 9, time to learn some golf etiquette! Course poorly marked, no yardage markers in sight.
Decent course
2nd time playing there this year. If you’re walking prepare yourself for an all uphill battle. Quite a few hills! Only downfall about this course is that, practically every green is above you. Tough sometimes to get an accurate distance or pin location. Overall though it’s a great course. I enjoy the walk.
South shore gem!
Great track in pristine condition. Great value midweek
