Great course for the money
I play Grandview frequently. New owners now - still working on correcting sprinkler controls which seem to have a mind of their own. Yesterday on the back nine I had to call the pro shop and report that the sprinklers on the approach to 10 were on. They were then on Hole 11 and 12. We worked around it but it took some timing to wait until the water was shooting away from where our balls were, hit the shot then putt out before running off the green.
It is a hidden gem having said all of that - try playing there = very peaceful and a great value.
Fog
Weather forecast called for high fifties and no rain. Fog rolled in by the 9th hole making it difficult to find the green. Made the turn at 10 and encountered dense fog. By the 11th could not see 100 yards. We picked up our balls and went in. By then the temp was 51°. Too bad, we were enjoying the course. Looking forward to playing next year.
Too Bad
This course "was" a nice course to play before the logging of the trees off the fairways. The greens were slow but true. The fairways were mostly green but nature hasn't been kind with no rain - off fairways brownouts and dust. They timbered the woods and left a mess; often times, with their big equipment leaving tracks and gouges in the fareways - it's a shame. Maybe they will be back to clean up the mess they left behind.
should play this course
for dry conditions course was in reasonably good shape. views on various holes are simply outstanding. there is no reason not to play this course.
Beautiful course, slow play
I just reviewed this beautiful course, so have little to add. The fairways are mostly goo except for some patchy and soggy spots. With those steep hills, hit it perfectly or you will lose your ball. Also, it took 20 minutes at the last hole because the group in front of me was exceedingly slow. This is definitely one of my favorite courses in the area.
Hilly and Challenging
This beautiful course was recently voted the best in our region. That's saying something because we have many great courses. The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were mostly good. This course is very hilly. That means you can't always see what's ahead,. Many of the fairways slope. The course was a bit soggy, and it was easy to lose a ball, especially on hole #1. The staff said there were six portapotties. I found only one on the front nine. The only one I found on the back nine was near the clubhouse. The staff said they'd put up directional signs to help. Without them, middle aged women should golf elsewhere.
Hello Pete! We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any negative experience you may have had due to the logging of trees. We understand that the conditions of the fairways were affected, and we will do our best to address the issues caused by the equipment. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
