Nice Course
I think we paid too much for the round ($42.50), but it was the weekend and it was Father's Day, so I guess that's to be expected. Staff was very friendly and commented how wonderful he thought the shape of the course was. Fairways were great, rough was dead, dry and yellow. (Lack of rain here in Northern Michigan at this time.) Landscape was very nice, however, other courses in this area are prettier. Still a great round, actually beat my husband by a stroke. OOPS! LOL
Great course
Course was in great condition. Very fun course to play. My only complaint is we were behind an outing of 20-some guys playing slow. It ended up being a 5-hour round. Will definitely go back, but will check with the course to make sure we aren’t behind any large groups.
Another Wonderful Golf Day at Lakes of the North
As always, this course delivers a solid golf experience. Today, a large group let me go on ahead, but some other players did not let me play through so I had to skip those holes to move on. The staff here are so nice and helpful. The round was more challenging due to the high heat.
Great Course—Beautiful Views
Friendly staff, lots of apparel options in the pro shop, very clean course, greens and tee boxes in good shape. Back 9 are very forgiving ;o)
Beautiful up north Michigan views with the front 9.
My New Favorite Up-North Course
What a beautiful course! Who knew? Fairways, perfect. Greens, perfect. Staff, perfect. An array of restrooms - thank you very much! Water and trash receptacles on the course. Ball cleaners, too. Every hole has a charming display as well. .Only hole #8 is a killer unless you are muscular and can hit over the water. Hard to rate the off-course amenities although I surely appreciated the hot coffee on this 33 degree F morning! The carts are basic. No club or ball washers or rain flaps. I can hardly wait to return!!
The course looks great!
The course looks fantastic! It’s in great shape the tees, fairways, rough and greens are in great shape. The greens roll smooth and true. I should of played more rounds here this summer it’s worth the cost and I would put it up against any course in the area
course condition
the course was well maintained, fair ways were plush and greens stayed true and consistent
Lakes of the North Deer Ru
Always enjoy playing this course. Very well maintained.
Not a bad course if it is close to you
It had almost 5 stars on golfnow so like 2 other course in the area that I played that had similar ratings, I was excited to see if this was the 3rd gem of the week and unfortunately it is OK but not 4-5 stars really. Average place, nice people, setup is not really covid safe as people all over the bar were packed in, all the things you could touch were still on the course such as ball washers and rakes but, one can always just ignore them. I drove 90 mins for all 3 corses this week based on the stars, this one was not worth the drive. For 20-30 mins and an afternoon deal, for a sure!
This is a decent course if you are in the area
I liked this course but, with the 4.5 stars I expected driving 90 mins to play it would be worth the trip and it really is not. If you are close and they have a 30-50 price go for it and it is good. For the same rating and price...assuming some type of mid-weeek golfnow deal, Dunmaglas is a much better choice in this area
Great day
Deer Run is a great course. Just challenging enough to keep it interesting, but not so much that you have to struggle around. Great condition and a friendly staff
Fantastic golf
it is a very nice place to play golf. Every thing about the course was excellent.
