West/East at Links of Novi, The

We played on a day where there was golf outing so we thought that the play would be really slow but the course staff managed to work us around the outing groups so we were able to play in a reasonable amount of time.
The ranger was a really friendly guy and kept a close look out on the pace of play and asked the group in front of us to pick up their play without us asking him to do so.
The course was in great shape, a lot better shape than I thought it would be in for a public course.
The course is moderately difficult with some tight shots and some well placed bunkers but it is not overly difficult, no blind shots. One of the 9 hole courses we played was par 34, the other a par 35.
Very enjoyable round overall.

I had played here when the course was fairly new, some 20+ years ago. So I didn't know what to expect. The course conditioning was very good, the greens were quite fast, the fairways were were well maintained, and the rough was thick enough to be a challenge. The clubhouse is very nice, with an upscale appearance. A few holes might be considered a bit " tricked up". Overall, an enjoyable afternoon of golf.

Played 18 as two and got paired up for 630 am tee time. Waited 15m for fog, but were first off so pace of play was fine. Played W-S. Conditions were good and greens sped up with sun on back 9. Like playing here with golfnow deals but direct green fees are a bit high.

Nice course if you like playing 18 holes in 5 1/2+ hours. We asked the range if he could get a few groups moving and his attitude was since we were on the back nine (west) it shouldn't be that big of deal. It will be a long time before I play there again

Love the course didn't like teeing off apart 20 minutes late. Didn't like the pace of play. About 5 hours

The course has good features and is in good condition. I always enjoy playing at Links of Novi. The lay out is nice and differs from hole to hole. People could manage to fill their divots, repair their ball marks and rake the sand better but it doesn't ruin the round.

We played in 3.5 hr on a Sunday morning, which is not too bad. Most greens were in great condition but a few still had bad areas of winter kill. East/West is a good course for medium handicappers but low handicappers may want to seek out a longer course. I will certainly return as it offers good value.

It was just me playing and I was treated very rudely by the pro shop workers and they tried putting me with a 5 some they had 2 outings and a wedding so saying it was overly crowded is an understatement I instead was put with 3 younger guys who were very rude to me apparently since I was a lady and I had to play the east instead of the west and it was so backed up my tee time was at 2:30 and I didn't get done till 8:30 what a long frustrating day I would not golf there again.

It was good but we had to wait way too long, the first nine holes took three hours due to slow players but lucky they only played nine.

Pace of play at this course was Absurd. Allowing as 8 some on the course with an assortment of BOOM Boxes and Cell Phones contributed to a ace of play that only allowed us to complete 13 holes in 5 and 1/2 Hrs. Remarks from the ranger were unfriendly and just plain silly.
The course was in very good condition and could get 5 stars if it was Marsheled as a golf course instead of a Sports Bar.

Slowest round ever. Waiting 10 minutes between every shot. They have a lot of people driving around in carts market masquerading as rangers but besides working on their tans, they serve no purpose whatsoever. I walked off the course after 13 upon hitting the four and a half hour mark. Just awful.

Very surprized at how nice the course was. Most greens in the area show a lot of damage from the Winter, but the greens here were great. The course is a bit short, but VERY tight with a few challenging greens and great snad in the traps. The club house was great - you can tell they have put a lot of $ into LON recently.

The starter was hurrying us off of the first tee of the east course to "keep on track." The group ahead of us was still in the fairway and the tee ahead of that had a group teeing off and another waiting. We watched the group in front of us tee off on every hole for the day. The group behind us was pulling up to the tee every hole as we were finishing. Several holes have been roped off to make them cart-path only and the rough is taller. The result is groups taking longer to play holes -- having to walk to the far side of the fairway from the cart path and taking several minutes to find shots that are just a couple feet out of the fairway. Meanwhile, they are still scheduling tee times every 8 minutes.

I brought my 13 year old, she was challenged but was not discouraged from the difficulty. The staff was very friendly and encouraging to her.

Nice course in nice condition, except some of the greens were burned by the record cold winter this year. Everything else was in excellent shape but I would have like to seen the rough a half inch shorter. It made finding balls that didn't make the fairway a little difficult. It would have probably picked up pace of play by a little bit. All in all, a very enjoyable day!! Wished I lived closer, they had a practice membership which includes unlimited range balls and cart fee only golf after certain hours for $44 a month advertised on the cart!

The course is beautiful but unfortunately the greens were badly damaged. I'm sure it was due to the harsh winter. I would play it again. South course was too short for my liking.

Greens are still recovering from the winter, but otherwise the course was in perfect condition.
