Good place for golf
Nice fairway and green is fast. So putting is difficult.
Ovrerally.good to play golf course
Beautiful course, but painfully slow with no enforcement
It took six hours to play 18 holes. There were no course officials moving around the course making sure people weren’t taking too long. We watched the group ahead of us take over five minutes to hit a shot, then hit lots of mulligans, followed by several minutes of standing around baffled at how badly they had hit it. Every single time. For six hours.
Very well kept course
It rained pretty steadily for the whole round, so the course wasn’t crowded, and so I can’t speak to what the typical pace of play looks like on a Sunday. But the course looked very nice, and the greens rolled well despite being wet. The staff were all incredibly nice.
Hudson Mills for the W.
What a GREAT course. Simple as that.
I was camping at Pinckney State Park so of course GolfNow hooks me up with a few local courses.
For $26 I would play this course every day. Best Value of the Summer thus far.
Clubhouse: The first thing you see when you pull up is the BIG beautiful glass windows of the MASSIVE high ceiling clubhouse. In the clubhouse, half is the pro shop and half is a full-blown cafeteria. Many options from chicken sandwiches to a variety of drinks (full bar.) It was one of the nicest clubhouses I've been in this summer!
The Course: From the pristine tee boxes, fast-difficult but very exciting greens to the back-to-back deep, dog legged, par 5s on the back nine. The course was in GREAT shape. You definitely notice right away that it is very well taken care of. I have been having bad luck with some recent courses with the tee boxes torn to bits... so Hudson Mills was a breath of fresh air.
Holes 13 & 14 are back-to-back par 5s. Quite challenging with dog-legging around a line of trees both over +450 yards from the whites. I miss-hit a few shots and lost one in the woods. (TRIPLED #14) But GOREGOUS holes, quint essential Pure Michigan holes.
All and all, I would recommend to ANYONE.
I noticed a TON of walkers so if you like walking, seems like this is a great course for you as well!
GO CHECK IT OUT (Hot Deal 11:44am $26.48)
Good value; tight fairways; tricky pin placement
First time playing this course. Course in good condition. Greens ran fast. Many pin placements were tricky. Stay in the fairway or prepare to load up bag with balls you’re willing to lose. Roughs a bit high and 1 inch past the rough finds you in deep foliage and ground cover.
Hudson Mills
All is good at Hudson except that they don't have a driving range, hitting balls in to 2 nets just is not the warm some or many likes to have.
