My new favorite
I wish I lived closer to this place. This was my second visit this year. Staff friendliness is the best I have ever encountered. The course offers just the right amount of challenge and is well kept. I love the Golf Now app they use to order from the clubhouse anywhere you are on the course. It works amazingly!
A gem in Traverse City
A short course on the outskirts of Traverse City. While it is short and probably won't offer the challenge that a scratch golfer seeks, it is setup beautifully for other mid to high handicappers.
A beautiful layout. Almost feels like a stadium course on some of the holes with several highly banked hills feeding from both left and right down to the fairways. The course is straight ahead and only challenges you on your club selection. The way it should be.
Some beautiful views of Grand Traverse East Bay as well.
The restaurant and other facilities were above average and the staff was ABSOLUTELY the nicest group of people I've ever met at a golf facility - absolutely outstanding.
I will be back - 100%.
Best course in traverse city
The best course in traverse city by far. Always well maintained, electric carts, and great layout. Too bad a developer is going to level it for townhomes.
Beginner Course
Elmbrook is a great course for people just getting into the sport or looking for a very lax afternoon of golf. The course usually isn't too crowded and is quite short distance wise. Most fairways run parallel to one another as well meaning not alot of lost balls. The course condition is definitly lacking as there isn't alot of "true grass" on the course.
Good Shape for time of year
The course was in good shape for this late in the year. The greens were aeriated and sanded but still putt very well. The 1st cut rough needed mowing but it had been wet out.
Great morning
This course was wonderful to play, I played there with my father and mother and we had a great pace of play the greens were in wonderful shape and the staff was very pleasant
Good but course maintenance through entire round
Overall I enjoyed this course as a great value for the cost with lots of variety of holes and the staff was very friendly. However we had to wait for or constantly listen to them mowing the course on well over half the holes we played which was a major distraction. Also they had watered (as we visually saw)many of the greens in the middle of the round which made judging puts extremely difficult when one was the speed expected and another was soaked. We had a 10am tee time on a Friday for reference.
