rest of course was in ok shape
Greenhaven was a great find!
I stumbled across Greenhaven after finding out that my preferred courses were booked with tournaments. To my surprise, the course was in better shape than I expected. The layout is also much more interesting than I expected, having more topographical changes than I assumed were possible there. Fairways and greens were in good shape, and I loved the overall character of the course. I plan to return soon!
This course is fair but also challenging.
Unfortunately this course does not have a driving range. It does have a small putting and chipping green. I suggest if you want to warm up do it at another venue. The pace of play was good. The staff was friendly. I would play this course again.
Enjoyable course
The course is not particularly breathtaking for me from an aesthetic standpoint. It was windy and hot which made some of the distances harder to judge. Overall I would say the course provides a fair value for an average outing.
Great value, good course, friendly folks!
I played this course my father on his birthday. The staff was friendly and treated us like we had golfed at Greenhaven regularly. The course was in fine shape for May and the greens played quite well. All in all, excellent course in the north cities area. We will definitely play there again!

fair to partly cloudy
greens in good shape, fairways not so much - some down right poor.
Charged me more than what GolfNow quoted online.
Poor Condition
This course is in poor condition. Fairways are real rough and choppy. Some greens are good, others need attention. I will not be playing here again.
Nice Moderate Course
This is a nice course to play. I like the layout and the clubhouse. It's not a high end course but the greens and fairways are good enough to enjoy the round. They also offer good deals so the price is worth it.
The one drawback here is there is little or no practice facilities
Good Value Muni Course
As you drive through Anoka, MN on Highway 10, the 4th hole of Green Haven golf course beckons, tempting you to pull off and play a round. If you're lucky and can do so, you'll have an enjoyable experience. The course is not long, 6,302 yards from the back tees, and the four sets of tees ranging down to 5,267 yards make it playable for seniors, women, and juniors. For the most part, the course is lightly treed, with gently undulating fairways and surprisingly fast greens. The rough is not very high and not very punitive. You won't lose many balls, unless you're playing in the Fall and your ball hides under leaves. The previously noted 4th hole, a par 5 rated as the number 1 handicap hole, is listed as 540 yards from the back tees, but that is measured going all the way around one of only two ponds on the course. The actual straight distance from tee to green is about 350 yards. This means that a good tee shot will allow you to go for the green in two. Birdie is still not in the bag, however, because the green is well guarded by bunkers right and left and is contoured to make putting a challenge. Settle for a par and move on. You might feel a bit beat up after playing the front nine, because the holes add up to 3,388 yards. The back nine is almost 500 yards shorter and easier, so take heart, you might still break 80 (or 90 or 100 as the case might be). The first significant elevation change on the course comes on the 12th hole, a 309 yard par 4. You drive (or trudge!) from the 11th green up to the tee, where you look down on a fairly narrow fairway and the green slightly offset to the right. A long hitter might try for the green, but falling short will probably mean finding a bunker. Better to lay up to 100 yards and secure a par or birdie the conventional way. Holes 13 through 15 lie across a road from the rest of the course and are the most heavily treed part of the course. Number 14 is an uphill 159 yard par 3 with a bunker stretching across most of the front of the green. But if you go long to avoid the beach, you might find yourself chipping off a hill to a green that slopes away from you. Good luck. The final hole, a 344 yard par 4 is a smaller version of the 4th hole. You hit from an elevated tee to a fairway that winds around a pond. Those who can hit their drives at least 260 yards might try to go directly over the pond to the green. Others will be happy to reach the green in two and find one of the easiest putting surfaces on the course. Head for the 19th hole and enjoy complementary popcorn with your favorite beverage while you make plans to return to this course.
The greens in very bad condition
Not sure what the problems are but the greens very poor. A lot of different issues. Really take away from the game.
Tough rough
Keep your ball on the short grass, you may not see it again in the rough. A 5 some held up play in the back 9, no ranger.
Enjoyable course - some oddities
I liked this course. It wasn't too harsh on a mediocre golfer like me. The thick rough was fittingly difficult. There is a variety of holes - not all the same. Nice variety. Greens were fast but cut very short, which meant they were somewhat beaten. Nice touch having the GPS equipment on the quiet electric cart. The cart also had a rain cover for clubs, and a ball and club washer on board. No water provided on the course. Clubs house was ok, but strange music choices made it a bit awkward. Nice club!
The course was in great shape!
I will golf this course again.
Very nice!
First nine are relatively open, flat and, honestly, too easy.
BUT, then the back nine gets a little harder and picturesque.
Very fun course, very good value.
fun round
we had a two some and played with a single ranger and staff very good, greens fast rough thick tee boxes could use some care as well as the bunkers. I will go back and play this course as we did enjoy it and it is a 45 minute ride for us.
Terrible Pace of Play
This is not the first time i have played here and had this problem.. The only reason i went back was because of the deal on golf now.com Its a shame because the course was in good shape but they do not have a starter or any type of organization when setting up tee times. My roumd took over 5 hours and we had to wait for 2 or sometimes 3 groups to tee off. Until they fix this i will gladly spend my money elsewhere.
