Very tight tree lined fairways with small greens. Greens were in great shape and fast. Course requires accuracy off the tee, but you can play with fairway woods/hybrids off the tee.
Course is very playable
I paired up with a local member after 9 holes and had a terrific experience. This is one of the best values for golf I have experienced. The course was in great shape despite recent weather conditions and storm damage. There was a concerted effort to get everything in order and very playable.
Pretty course with lots of trees
Lots of trees with some hanging over the fairway.
The greens were in immaculate shape and consistently a little fast.
The sand traps, however, needed maintenance as they were pretty hard, almost like hitting off a gravel road.
I also think they could put more sand traps on the course, especially around the greens, to add personality and keep things interesting on some of the blander holes, especially since there wasn't much water on the course. I believe there was only 5 sand traps on the course (4 on the front 9 and only 1 on the back 9) and 2 holes with water.
I thought the 2 water holes (#8 and #16), however, were great holes (and the most challenging). Fun to play.
All the different trees and the undulations/elevations made it a very pretty course at times with some interesting tee shots. We even saw a couple deer with their fawn 3 different times, which was cool to see.
Hidden gem!
Nice course and great value!
Great fall golf
First time playing this course. Had heard many good things, and was not disappointed. Found out quickly that the course plays much tougher on a bad driving day. Great northwoods course feel, with narrow, tree-lined fairways throughout. Minimal bunkers. Slightly elevated greens in excellent condition. Would definitely play this course again.
Hidden jewel at Hidden Greens
Enjoyed the beauty of this well maintained course and also the challenging fairways that have so many mature trees. Better be keeping it straight and in the short grass. Will be going back before the snow fly's.
Will certainly play Hidden Greens again
Probably the best greens I've ever seen on a course in November! Take advantage of the textual descriptions of each hole on the score card before teeing off. Also, I don't know if it was the shadows or the contours of the course, but every approach shot and Par 3 plays one club up. Great GolfNow deals and Fall season deals at the course.
Excellent value and scenic
The course was a surprise, albeit a very pleasant surprise. I had played the neighboring course a couple times and was quite surprised at the woods and overall conditions of the course. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Good place to play, but too many trees
Good course conditions. Because there are so many trees, it's hard to find the ball, or hit the trees. Otherwise this place is pretty good.
best course i have played
I have played at multiple courses and Hidden Greens is by far my favorite. The course has beautiful scenery and the course was in very good condition. It has a perfect variety of holes from easy par 3's to challenging par 5's. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I have a course right across the street from me (which is a pretty well known course) and I would rather drive 35 minutes to play this course. I highly recommend it if you have never been there.
The name is for real
A nice tight course that is not overly long. Staying on fairway is key to setting up an approach to the green. Even then the tree lines cover 1/3 of the green in most cases. Greens and fairways were in good condition.
Great course at a great rate
Well maintained and very pretty course with lots of trees! Can't beat the course for the price.
golf course is very challenging
we had a great time at this golf course we try to play a different course every week and out of all the courses we played this one was really nice course and the people
Well maintained. Friendly staff
The groundskeeper obviously cares about his job there. Beautiful grounds. Nice fairways and greens.
Nothing fancy, but made up for with very friendly staff.
Definitely going back.
Average
Decent course. It was in good shape. Lots of trees. I'm not a fan of trees that hang over into the fairways.
Great Course
This course was beautiful. Just when you may think you have an easy hole the undulating fast greens will throw off your score. On this Saturday everyone was out to enjoy a perfect day so the course would naturally be slow. I didn't find any slow players, it was just the amount of golfers enjoying their round of golf.
hidden gem
this course is not long nor is it extremly challenging, it is however very scenic and well maintained. You wouldn't know it coming in off hwy 61, but this course is prestine. Note, hit a monster drive on hole #1, the dog leg is much further than you think from the blues.
Needs major tree removal and trimming
The. Course is green and the staff is friendly, that is the only good thing I have to say. The rating and slope was reared years ago before these trees had grown up. Trees are hanging over in fairways leaving very small targets to shoot for to get a decent second shot. Shots in trees require a short chip out back to the fairway with very few opportunity a to advance the ball. Trees need to be thinned out! Greens were inconsistent Some fast some slow with same amount of sun. My wife and I were stuck behind a walking foursome that was not keeping up and would not let us through until the 10 hole. There were hedges in front of one tee box on the back nine that my drive had to barrel through, just stupid. I golf once a Week and this was one of the worst golf outings I can remember. Unless they clear and trim 100s of trees they could just as well turn the goats loose on it. I would not play this course again for free. Seriously. Don't waste your time
Nice Course with challenging design and well kept up
I really enjoyed my first round at Hidden Greens. Overall I would say the course is challenging. Its fairways are fairly tight and narrow and lined with mature trees. The greens are challenging are in great shape. There are more than a few nice views on this course with the different water and trees in the area. I would give this place a try, it was worth the drive. If you like to play multiple courses in a day, there are multiple courses within 5 miles, let alone 1 right next door.
