Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2022 #8)
Reviews
Great value, not the friendliest.
The course conditions were excellent for the price. With a couple exceptions, the layout was fair and allowed me to use pretty much every club in my bag. There wasn't much for water hazards. My only complaint was the pro shop. Both days I played, I felt like I was bothering them. Unfriendly. It's unfortunate, because otherwise this was one of my favorite finds for the price.
Rough shape but early in the year
Greens are rough and need some work. Course pro running the clubhouse is not very friendly
What can you expect from a golf course in Minnesota in march? The greens were slow and wet and beat up. But the course was pretty dry and certainly playable. The tee markers were not out...it was the first day they were open. It was great to be out golfing.
November Conditions
Greens are poor with much grass kill and bare spots. Got around in 2 1/2 hours as a single on Wednesday 11:00. Bear in mind that November 16 in Minnesota is very late in the year for golf. I'll try it again next June and see how it looks at its peak.
Watch Out For The Mower
One of the grounds crew almost ate my wedge with his zero turn mower as I was putting not five feet away from my wedge on the ground. Honestly, I felt taunted and this was the first hole. Why come that close anyway?!
This course is in rough shape!!
This course is in the worst shape I have ever seen for it. the tee boxes were full of crag grass. Over half the greens were terrible. They used the wrong material to put circles on the greens, and it killed the grass. Fairways were acceptable.
The rough is thick
The rough is thick at Willow Creek bordering on neglect. I was not happy seeing the fivesomes' and a group of six along with walkers. Pace was obviously issue with these factors.
Nice course and good value with golf now.
Winter ware on the fairways, greens where in good shape. Balls stuck on approach shots but moved fast when stroking a
Putt. Still a nice course worthy our challenge
.
Bad layout
You get lost a lot of the course and there were tractors and mowers all over the course at 2 p.m. Be sure to pay attention to the map. 3-5 holes we didn't even know where the hole went. The course was in good shape other than that though
Good course
Great course, both large and par 3. Enjoy the scenery everything was well I appreciate such a great golf course thank you and have a great day. I'll definitely be back to play more there!
Interesting Course
An ok course. Not super long...in 18 holes only used driver 6 times. Not too much trouble to get into in terms of hazzards...but they are there. Favorite holes are 9 and 11.
New to Rochester
Really fun and Challenging course. The course plays very different from the front 9 to the back 9. Had a very pleasurable time and look forward to playing it again.
Amazing day of golf
Day was great holes were amazing other than being extremely wet due to I'm assuming some sort of water accident there were alot of maintenance people on the course maintaining the problem once we hit the back nine everything was dry and amazing greens were well maintained and fairways perfect even the rough was kept nice and neat easy to shoot from "not that I spent alot of time there or anything " this is the first time I've golfer this course but am already planing my second trip back with my dad if your and avid golfer or just a weekend warrior and enjoy a stiff drink and an amazing course at a very good price then this is the course for you
Nice Course
Course was in good shape and pace was great today even with a full course. Some challenging holes. Played this course 3 times this summer and really enjoy each time I play.
Great greens but slow pace
The greens are excellent- fairways and tees are average. Some interesting holes with challenging tee shots from the back tees. We waited on every shot so the pace of play was slow caused by a 5 and 6 sum ahead of us.
Nice course
Overall nice course, would play again if I was in the area.
Beautiful GC, fast pace, so play 36 holes
T time was at 7:30 am and it was open all the way to 18th. So pace of play is excellent in the morning.
Fairways are well kept you would think they charge $100 per round. Greens were slow and it worked well for me. I will play it again!
Great greens
This course is moderate in difficulty - and a bit short - but the greens are great and Scott is exceptional to work with in the clubhouse.
Good Value
I can't believe they stay in business at these rates, only $22 for 18 & cart. Decent layout and decent conditions. I'll be happy to play here again
